Nuclear Dawn is a game that combines intense visceral and violent First Person Shooter action with fast-paced Real Time Strategy in the aftermath of a devastating apocalyptic world war. Storm a building as an assault trooper, cling to the shadows with active stealth, or unleash incredible firepower from a high-tech suit of exo-armour, or lead as a commander, marshalling resources and deploying weapons and equipment for your troops You, the player, have the responsibility and the power to decide the outcome of every engagement. If your opponents are lucky there will be enough of them left to bury.
Oh my god. Now I want to get this game even more!
(buried)
why?
we have all seen free mods with maps better than this.
How can you know how good the map is until you've played it? Unless you actually have played it, which I'm guna guess you haven't, that is an extremely stupid comment.
I have to agree with you, for a retail game alot of mods look better then this
bear in mind it's not even finished yet.
It doesn't look good.
The wall textures are lowres, _everything_ seems to be flat, this "ruined wall" is... blocky? Well, everything is. No details, like some bricks sticking out of the wall etc.
This game looks like a bad mod, not a full, awesome game.
its gonna be a huge scale map, so small details won't be important.
Lol, 'bad mod' standards are pretty damn low. If it were a mod it would be at the very high quality end of them - and would have taken 6 years not 1!
You are completely right about your claims on the graphical issues. But bare in mind, that there's only a small team behind this game, working with near-obsolete technology.
If they had the time of day to polish all 6 extremely huge maps like the team of Zeitgeist would, then I'm sure they would have. But also bare in mind that they have to put their focus on other features as well, graphical priority tends to be put on things that players would look at more than any other thing, which in this case, the Player model, hence why the Exo in this image looks better than anything in the environment.
As for level design, I would agree that it needs more debris and rubble, and that some areas could use some more detail, and that certain areas need a facelift to hide them.
I think the graphics are very good. Higher resolution than Half Life 2.
The mapping is very detailed and even the character models have a professional appearance with all the little folder, bumps & reflections.
If you like First Person Shooters and Strategy games, this one may be right up your alley
The map isn't as detailed as the mapper is trying to suggest it should be if that makes sense. It looks like there should be some debris but there is not. The ceiling is lacking support that you would normally see with this setting. The light is very small. No one would put florescent that small up there. Its not practical. The map is a good start but needs a lot of fine tuning.
i'm here,coming!
