In the year 2020, the world is in a state of turmoil as a result of the ruinous Second Depression that caused nations around the world to collapse under economic pressure. In this global regression, the world is engulfed in civil war, and chaos is the only thing people can be sure of in this world. The main character of the game is "Thy", an emotionally scarred 19-year-old with a shady past. Living in dystopian America, he lives his life as a recluse in the industrial zone of an undisclosed city. As a means to vent his emotional vexation, the boy often indulges in the ecstasy of the underground fighting pits that have spawned in areas all over the world for people to fight and forget the world they live in. These fighters are known as "shapes". Thy's teenage years have been with the mere intent of survival; often having to move from one place to the next. His life, however, has not gone overlooked... One day, Thy wakes up to find himself in a completely foreign land.
