Last week we had the opportunity to take part of the Casual Connect Indie Showcase Hamburg. We presented Noomix for three days (12-14 february) along with other great independent games like Forced, A story about my uncle, Intrusion2 or our personal favorite press [X] to give up. In case you are interested in attending such a conference, here is our quick checklist of DOs and DON’Ts:
Things you should do at the CC Hamburg
- Gather valuable Feedback for your Game
- Get potential business partners (for marketing, distribution, monetization)
- Attend Talks about entrepreneurship, marketing and game business
- Build awareness for your Game
- Exchange tons of business cards
- Enjoy the feast at the open buffets
- Get some new twitter followers -.-
- Generate press for your Game
- Do some Nerd-Talk with other game devs
- Play games from other Teams and hear their stories
- Bring an iPad with your trailer & know your elevator pitch
- Get free Beta-Keys of your fellow devs and give feedback
- Full-Contact Networking during the afterpartys
Things you should NOT do at the CC Hamburg
- Bring an oversized screen and block other indies tables
- Take out to much money to the Reeperbahn
- Come without an optimized showcase-build of your game
- Double-Fisting (Taking two drinks at once at free bars)
- Miss the train to the airport at arrival
- Hoard free stuff and giveaways
- Forget your Camera…
