Nazi Zombies: PortableNazi Zombies: Portable

Nazi Zombies Portable aims to recreate the Nazi Zombies experience from CoD: WaW into the Quake engine, making it playable on the Hand-Held PlayStation Portable Console (Does not require Custom Firmware ) and can be easily played on just about ANY computer out there (Even Windows 98!). For those who don't know what Nazi Zombies is about.... Nazi Zombies is a gamemode in Call of Duty: World at War.
Nazi Zombies consists of up to four people (PSP Version does not support multiplayer right now) in survival against endless hordes and waves of "Nazi Zombies". Each wave the rounds get harder and harder, and you get points for barricading walls and killing zombies. You use the points to buy guns or you can spend them on the mystery box where you get a random gun in return. NZ:P will feature downloadable map-packs (don't worry they're free). We are constantly working very hard on this mod, so check us out at our forums.

Hello Nazi Zombies Portable Fans!

After what was a lengthy hiatus, Jukki, Ju[s]tice, and I (Blubs) are proud to present to you the NZ:P Demo....
... exactly 4 years after our initial release!

Notice that there is no alpha, nor beta attached to that name, for it is a demo. This release is a demo showcasing what's to come in the future of NZ:P.

- better get them from a-far while they can't reach you...

- okay, things are picking up here a bit...

Apart from having been rewritten from the ground up, (and heavily remodeled, reanimated, retextured, reworked etc...), this release showcases our determination to finish NZ:P. Our priority for this release has been stability, and playability ( which turns out is a lot more difficult than one might imagine on the Playstation Portable).

- This guy had a bad time...

- Sure looks survivable, doesn't it?

This release contains the very primitive (yet extremely functional) foundation for which we will build off of in the future.
Within thie release, there is only one single map, Nacht der Untoten, and it only contains a handful of weapons such as:

- Colt M1911 -Kar-98k -M1A1 Carbine -M1A1 Thompson -Double Barreled Shotgun
- Sawed-off Shotgun -Trenchgun -Scoped Kar-98k -MG-42 -0.357 Magnum

This is a limited selection of weapons, we are well aware, but it's a great variety to play with!
There's a lot more miscellaneous information to be shared, but why share it when you can go in-game and check it out yourself!

As usual, multiplayer is still not officially supported, but we hope to look into it in the near future, but our focus has been set entirely on gameplay as of late. That sure doesn't mean we discourage you from poking around with it to try and get it working ;)

- repair dem windows, receive dem points! Not like it keeps them out for long anyways!

- It is not looking good for this guy...

As you'll notice, there's no immediate pc version to go along with this release, that's because there is no pc version yet!
That may sound like a bad thing at first, but it is a drastic and important change which the dev team decided to implement.
In the past, we primarily worked on the PC version, porting features chunks at a time to the PSP version, this led to a highly unstable PSP version. Not this time! This time we did ALL testing on either the PSP emulator PPSSPP and actual hardware! This time around, the PC version will be the port.

Yes a PC version is coming! But that's a piece of cake, because just about anything will run on the PC, optimized or not.
For now if you wish to enjoy NZ:P on the PC, you can download the PPSSPP emulator (which we use to test) over at , not to mention that you can run any other PSP game you want on there!

For now, with this release we're doing something we've never done before. We're making NZ:P with the modders in mind, and as such, we're declaring this project open source! Available for download is not only the engine source code, but the entire qc source code as well! Happy Modding!

Also included is our current fgd file, for several reasons, we had to change our old fgd definitions file so unfortunately old NZ:P maps will not be compatible with this new release, but alas that just opens up the door to a whole new breed of developers!

For those keen-eyed mappers and modders, some of the old features not officially supported in the Demo *cough* perks *cough* can still be found in the mapper files, so why not give those things a go!

Alongside the updated fgd file, Ju[s]tice, our mapper, has made and compiled an example .rmf and .bsp file to showcase how some of the new changed mechanics work and how to set custom maps up! Expect more tutorials and guides soon!

As an added bonus, we have included a plugin for those PSPs with custom firmware that allows the "home" button on the PSP to be bound to a control! Useful those who wish to change up the control scheme to their choosing!
Though this plugin is included, it is entirely optional, and none of the default controls rely on the home button, rest assured!

- Everybody loves the thompson!

- ...hehe, good thing it's only round one, things can't pick up that quickly... can they?

As per the future of NZ:P, now that we have the foundation of the game laid out, the real fun begins for us devs!
The release that follows is going to be a good one!

So what are you waiting for? Head over to our downloads page to check it out NAOH!

Thanks for standing by us for all of this time! ...and be sure to stick around for the future that lies ahead!

Yours truly,
Blubs, Jukki, & Ju[s]tice, the NZ:P Dev team.

So I was at a Pawn shop in Idaho and saw a PSP 3k for $60. I decided I'd get it just to demo, and
Holy buckets Batman, that is one well done game! Great playability and solid performance. I almost want to stop modding and just admire it as is.
BTW, you can raise fps by typing in r_fullbright 1 into console. Yeah it kinda makes it look a little cheesier, but the fps raises significantly.

Oh I work on making mods for Skyrim, and am learning to mod for Quake, in my spare time anyways. For a living I cook, and clean the kitchen of the Bible camp I work at as well as I am their sound technician and do some electrical work when needed. I'm basically a handy man at the camp, and when I'm not working or messing with my mods, I work on finishing a custom NZ:P map which is the entire camp itself, and I am learning new tricks to all of that too.

So just five minutes ago I sat down and played this seriously, it seriously rocked. You guys have completely and totally outdid yourselves with this release. But along with a release and a demo at that there are some things I want to point out.

A Few Things that need fixing/Changing:

Zombie Animations - These new anims look great but a few namely the running with both their arms outstretched and the full sprint look goofy, I'm guessing you were going for serious so in the future I would edit these two animations so they don't look as funny.

Choppy Animations - Yes the PSP is very limited as to what can be done there or how much detail can go into that particular thing but if it is at all possible I would like to see the animations to the point of being smooth and not choppy and jittery. This isn't gamebreaking but it would be nice.

The Knife - The knife is perhaps the biggest problem with the current version, it seems that no matter how close I get to the zombies or where I aim the knife doesn't follow through. In the actual NZ the knife locks onto the zombies making it so you don't have to point the crosshair at every zombie you can to knife, this would be a nice feature in NZP. It is also hard to tell if you landed a hit or not due to the sounds being extremely quiet to being non-existant as a whole.

The Textures (World not Weapons) - The textures in the world could use a sharpening adjustment or some kind of added detail because at the moment its really soft I guess, almost to the point of being a smear. Any smaller details or even if the textures were more pixelized would be nice, the soft smudge textures don't fit with the rest of the game.

Zombie Sounds - Lastly the zombie sounds have been throwing me off. We definitely need the old sounds back or we need to hire a voice actor to make the new sounds as half the time I feel like I'm hearing sounds from the enemies from Duke Nukem, call me crazy but sometimes I hear it.

there is a "retro" mode in the settings which will draw textures "pixelated" aka dont have a filter on it.

I agree on the knife, they should make the knife hit sound a bit louder, also it seams like the zombies make a loud noise pretty much every second witch can annoy some people

Theres a zombie spawn glitch on the new demo. when u open the weapon box room 1st floor and you go to the stairs on the weapon box room, zombies wont spawn on 2nd floor. (DONT OPEN THE STAIRS ON THE FIRST ROOM!!)

SuperNovae6 Jan 4 2015, 6:27pm replied:

What?thats not a spawn glitch.if it ever were to be a glitch, then it wouldnt be much of a problem.

You said you go to the stairs in the weapon box room, zombies wont spawn on second didnt say to open the barrier. of course zombies arent going to spawn on 2nd floor

3 years ago, i was playing Call of duty world at war. i remember it so clearly. Natch der untoten was the map, yes it was. so i was sitting with my ps3 controller in my hand on some ridiculous round thinking to my self. "wouldn't this be awesome if this was on the go?" so then i searched for nazi zombies for psp, yet at that time there was no such of an idea of it. i grew depressed. - _ - i was clouded in despair. But you the nzp team gave me hope again that i will still be able to slay zombies…
