Torgue - that is soooo cool! As these guys are modders originally, so I guess they will create better modding tools than any of the big developers. Plus, this engine looks very good and would give way to a lot of interesting mods, I think.

xbox360 is much easier to code for. Or so I hear.

Similarly I don't think they're trying for a Wii port.

Flayra and the NS2 team are trying to work with Valve to make sure you can connect the pre-order copy with the Steam copy.

However, no promises.

Pre-ordering the game isn't necessary. The game will be released via Steam once it is ready, and you can purchase it then. However, pre-ordering gives you access to the Beta and other nice treats.

Looks great... shame it did not have a small single player element leading into the multi-player, like a tutorial on tactics, moves etc playing along side some NPCs. Run through a couple of pre-levels and then be thrown into a multi-player game. Would play to the illusion of a single player... Don't think it hase been done before, not in a single feature...

Valve's games are 16v16, but look how many their really is in game. I'm sure it'll be the same with NS2, server plugins to allow more players.

To everyone with a PREORDER QUESTION, please refer to the official NS2 Pre-order FAQ:

Naturalselection2.com

Also, you can keep up-to-date with Steam Preorder progress via the NS2 Twitter page:

Twitter.com

You will find the most accurate information on these two pages. Also, Flayra has been kind enough to post directly in this thread. He is the lead dev for NS2, and I assure you he is doing everything in his power to make sure Preorder keys work with the Steam version. Be sure to give him and the rest of the team a big woot! for their hard work.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE TWO LINKS AND READ EVERY POST IN THIS THREAD BEFORE ASKING THE SAME QUESTIONS.

Thank you!

A question not answered on the pre-order FAQ is this: Will the special edition be available on Steam?

_Xero_ Jun 2 2009, 10:41pm replied:

Good question. I imagine that a Special Edition will probably be available. However, depending on how soon the game is uploaded to Steam, it might be too late for the alpha and beta test. Meaning, you might get the black marine armor, but you'll miss out on the early testing. Of course, it's also possible that these tests will be run through Steam.

This game isn't so close to call it MMORPG.

Seen this title before as well as the first version. Ain't worth it if this goes retail. Since this game is an indie, I highly doubt if this game offers skirmish support just like any UT game.

The game isn't an MMORPG. It is a team-based online mix of FPS and RTS. Currently, teams are planned at 16x16. I'm not sure what you mean by skirmish support?

He means more bot play. I heard the team from Whichbot was working to provide AI support. But it sounds like his mind is already made up, because he knows so much about it from NS1. Hur Hur.
