Welcome to Milestone Update #3!

The past Milestone Update gave a look back at the very first progress Naruto Naiteki Kensei had. From these humble beginnings, we continue to connect the hidden secrets to the point of our public revealing!

Chapter 3: Public Revealing

During the time on the new website, much progress has been accomplished secretly. The HUD and stamina and chakra systems were being implemented, work on levels and models were getting done, and gameplay was starting to shape up. Sandstorm/Sakura also started on our old shuriken system, which was later redone.

Due to the progress of the many seasoned modders, Dj-Ready also was inspired to start some levels. Here are a few WIP shots of Dj Ready's early maps:

Tryforce also helped out by creating many environment models used for some of the levels we have. Here are a few screenshots of those models.

The amount of progress in such a short time, the talents of the teammates, and the clicking of the team as a whole, Kama started to create incredible skins! Here are a few WIP skins Kama has done. Tweaked also by SV:

From the completed Naruto model, SV, a true professional, made a few incredible renders. Seeing it for the first time made us realize, "hey this isn't just any ordinary team, this isn't just any ordinary project. This is something much more." The renders were a foreshadowing of us rising far above the constraints of the old Half-Life engine. We're capable of producing something possibly able to match some of the current commercial games out there. Here are a few screenshots of those incredible renders:

Lord Killmore also joined the ranks of the NNK developers. From him came our very first set of animations for the project! Here are a few animations to check out:

One of the biggest, ambitious features we thought about were facial expressions. The show Naruto had so many dynamic facial expressions, that to really grasp the spirit of the show, we needed this feature. It was such an ambitious idea, but it wasn't too high a goal to achieve. Our first ideas for the system came from SV.

On the fated day, April 30, 2008,

Naruto: Naiteki Kensei was finally revealed to the public!

It was a smashing turn out! Many people from the depths of the internet came forth to see what awesome progress was made! Old and new friends started joining the forums and becoming such an active part of the community. More and more people also came to take part in developing an eye-popping project, being developed on such an old engine. But no one would have guessed this was Half-Life 1....

The project at this point had so much accomplished. At the same time, our progress kept on increasing. We made it our goal to do Weekly Updates on Friday, allowing us to complete our goals and to keep the community informed and interested. At times the updates may have been late. At times coming up with updates were stressful, because things may have still been in the works, or it was difficult to find something to update on. Fortunately, we were able to do consecutive updates for up to 76 weeks! Which is around 19 months or 1 year and 7 months. This was the dedication of the team - this was the uniqueness of this project - this was: Naruto Naiteki Kensei!

More and more developers flocked to want to help out and get their hands on this puppy, but that will all come at our next update.

Next Week! Chapter 4: The 1st Great Milestone in Gameplay, Melee

1st!!! (lol, sorry I've just never posted first on anything :P)

You guys are right this is defiantly much more then a mod, and you have defiantly matched any commercial game out there (and compeletly destroyed all naruto games, or any anime game in general)

The only thing I don't like is that the only people that will make a profit off this is Valve when people buy Half life 1 for this.

I don't know how it's possible to say that before you even played NNK...
Can't wrap my mind around it.

I played every possible Naruto game out there. If you want 1 on 1 fighting style you won't find it a multiplayer game such as this, that's for certain.
