Canon de 155 L Modèle 1877

At the start of the Great War, the French Army had put an enormous amount of faith in their famous "75". It was indeed a formidable gun, but it soon became apparent that even this Gun could not perform all the tasks needed, especially when the war turned static and fixated around entrenchments rather than maneuver. Heavier guns were needed.

This forced the French Army to use older or even obsolete guns, in a desperate effort to fill the gap, and to provide the troops with much needed heavy Fire Support. That is the reason why the 155mm Cannon Mle 1877 was kept in service, despite its obvious age, shown primarily by its rigid mount on a "Napoleon-style" carriage. The lack of a modern system of Recoil meant, among other things, that the gun had to be relaid after each shot, greatly reducing the rate of fire. The Mle 1877 could shoot a 40kg (881b) shell up to a maximum range of 9.8km, which was quite acceptable. The Breech was of the De Bange screw type, and the gun was fired using a Friction Device.

Canon de 155 C modèle 1917 Schneider

The 155mm Howitzer by Schneider, was the principal heavy howitzer piece of the French Army during the Great War. It started as a private enterprise, the design being made by Schneider to get a contract to equip the Russian Imperial Army with artillery. The gun itself proved to be an excellent piece, and when the War broke out in 1914 it was soon accepted by the French Army as well, who needed these types of modern, heavy howitzers.

yep yeah napoleon is so overrated, i mean comon, after he died france went bankrupt, lost all of their colonies in america and in india and the pax brittanica started, whole centuries with the british rulling the world, besides he was nothing more than a dictator.

this game should've been actually like the Kingdoms expansion, and you could play as Frederick the Great, Napoleon, Russia/sweden in the northern war, and etc, much better than just focusing on this dwarf

Word of advice for any potential newcomers to the series: DON'T, CA are by far some of the worst incompetent devs you'll ever meet.

For starters they tend to weave false promises in a manner that puts EA to shame and instead of actually learning from their mistakes they continue in their ill fated endeavors. Oh and did I mention how they support their games? That's right actual game support something that the community for this game can't seem to even fathom or grasp, meaning they give documentation on functions and/or sdk which was supposedly due with Empire total war the supposed "Most mod able game yet." at the time and now they promise a "unit/uniform editor" lol You have to hand it to them though they know how to lead along their sheep and how to make a complete mockery of the situation.

That's just the least of the concerns you'll have with TW, you'll undoubtedly always end up with a bugged game with little to no actual proper beta test, see Empire for ex. Last but not least the community, what a travesty, I swear seems that most who do in fact care about modding and or sustaining the old broken horse of TW are either more concerned with MINE and MY own 'epeen' thus having mod vs mod scenarios and other such childish rubbish and act like they know so ******* much about modding but they can't even define the types of mods as in not knowing what exactly a total conversion really is or they are simple blind sheep of CA.

I suggest you invest elsewhere, people who are competent and know wha they're doing. Relic, paradox just to name a few
