The long days of summer are past and winter is coming. It's the time of year to reap the rewards of what you've sowed all year long. Why not reward yourself with this bountiful harvest of seven great indie games in Indie Royale's Harvest Bundle? Featured in this bundle is the acclaimed retro platformer from Renegade Kid, Mutant Mudds, a hilariously fun top down procedurally generated shooter from RichMakeGame, Pineapple Smash Crew, plus the Lemmings-like Spirits, an Avernum RPG trilogy, and bonuses too!

First up in this crop of games is a well-received retro platformer from Renegade Kid, Mutant Mudds, available for Windows on Desura and DRM-free. Play Max (and his grandma!) as they fight to vanquish aliens called the Mutant Mudds with only a water cannon and jetpack! Originally created for Nintendo 3DS, the enhanced PC version is worth checking out, since it offers a wealth of additional content - including a Super Mario World-esque total of 60 challenging levels spanning across 5 worlds with 8 unique graphical themes. The challenging level design, catchy chiptune soundtrack, and refined platform mechanics make this a game you won't wanna miss. Destructoid celebrates Mutant Mudds calling it "platforming distilled to its essence. It cuts the fat in order to deliver a pure, satisfying experience."

The next yield in the Harvest Bundle is playful top down twin stick procedural shooter from RichMakeGame, Pineapple Smash Crew available for Windows on Steam, Desura and DRM-free. Control a squad simultaneously but be careful not to let one member of the squad die or else you'll lose your firepower and miss out on critical level-ups further into the game. Pineapple Smash Crew is set in a world of randomly generated abandoned spaceships where you get to shoot everything in sight and drop varying grenades on your enemies. Geek.com says of Pineapple Smash Crew "it has fun mechanics, great graphics, and lightweight gameplay that you can jump in and out of."

Also included in this seasonal bundle is appropriately themed action-puzzle game from Spaces of Play, Spirits, available for Windows, Mac and Linux on Steam, Desura and DRM-free (and its OST)! In Spirits, Autumn is here, leaves are falling, and the spirits are rising from the fallen leaves to find their way home. Guide them on their journey indirectly by growing them, and changing the ground and wind. Offering a powerful blend of puzzle and strategy elements, Spirits offers beautiful art, well-done animation, nicely crafted audio and challenging level design. Wired.com celebrates Spirits for "(a)rt so beautiful it could have been lifted from a Miyazaki movie."

Next up for this bountiful bundle is classic fantasy RPG from Spiderweb Software Avernum: The Great Trials Trilogy (available for Windows and Mac on Steam, Desura and DRM-free), which includes 3 great games: Avernum 4, Avernum 5 & Avernum 6. The next set of games in the Avernum series, these titles are quite accessible to those who haven't played the first trilogy since it's set many years afterward. Based in Avernum, a huge underground world, these games offer over 40 hours of gameplay, a thoughtful and unique storyline and terrifically foreboding enemies. In Avernum 4, you'll protect your home from monsters and assassins; in Avernum 5, you'll take on a new role and protect the Empire; finally in Avernum 6, you'll help keep the world of Avernum from going into extinction due to food shortages and an invasion from barbarian lizard people. BioGamer Girl says of these 3 games: "if you're looking for addicting games that will keep you playing for many hours on end, look no further than the Avernum Great Trials Trilogy!"

Last up is experimental 2D basketball-based story platformer from Studio Bean, BasketBelle available for Windows and Mac on Desura and DRM-free (along with an OST + beautifully crafted sketchbook). This unique game uses sports and dreamlike gameplay to bring you into a moving and interesting tale about love, family and of course basketball. Each chapter of the game uses the mechanics and the idea of basketball in a different way; from dribbling inside the intestines of a purple blob creature to dunking above the clouds in front of the Parisian moon, Basketbelle isn't short on surprises. TruePCGaming says of this unique game: "Those who are interested in a sweet tale of brotherly love, (...) would do well to (buy this game) because this is an experience worth having."

Finally, those who pay $8 USD or their currency equivalent during the Harvest Bundle will get a custom album from critically acclaimed chiptune label 'Data Airlines'. Data Airlines is known for bringing real retrofuture electrosounds to destinations all over the world and created this one-of-a-kind compilation for Indie Royale which includes artists such as Dubmood and Bright White Lightning.

You can find more information on the Harvest Bundle, including real-time statistics and its current price, on its official website or via its Facebook and Twitter pages. Get in early on the bounty of games offered in the Harvest Bundle while the price is still low (unless kind purchasers lower the price) and buy it today!

As a 3ds version owner I really want to buy this game again on PC but I also want to be able to play it in 3D, the way it was originally designed and meant to be played. Not that cheap anaglyph kind of 3D either but instead on an actual 3D monitor or 3D TV with 3D glasses. I'm a huge fan of 2D games that are in 3D, love the whole cardboard cutout look of them and the perceived depth between the layers. It's such a shame to see a game that had that lose that when it's still possible.

A Linux port would definitely be great. Surprisingly, I've still had absolutely no success running this through Wine, and there are still no entries on PlayOnLinux or AppDB.

This is a fantastic game! I had never heard of it and got it in the bundle a few days ago and can't stop playing it - If you like VVVVVV, Super Meat Boy, and IWBTG, check it out! I'm nearly finished the Grannie levels and I'd say it's tougher that VVVVVV, but much, much easier than SMB or IWBTG. Thanks devs for such a cool game!

God, it's a so great game. I play since... a lot of hours, and it's crazy how non-annoying it is. "Simple" gameplay serve by a lovely retro-style graphics & musics and a very good level-design.
Clearly one of my very favourite indies games of the year with Hotline Miami and Dustforce.

Take that medal, sirs.

Arrived here from a Desura email. Graphics look good in the main picture but the background mechanic seems a bit meh and is really tiny in the video. Looks like a Gameboy Advance game.

It looks like we have our first faked score on the leaderboard. Either they're cheating or hacking, or perhaps it was an accidental glitch, but onekey has achieved a physically impossible score of 00:00:00:01 on Level 1-2.

Thanks for noticing. If onekey cheated it on there, then I salute his skills and thank him for keeping his enthusiasm contained. But I'm not sure what's up with it yet. In the meantime, I have restored the natural order of things.
