It has been some tough days of learning but I managed to have it working properly on android at least in the initial stages.
JMonkeyEngine provides what you need to port the game. But the process is not as straightforward as you believe. But thanks to the forums I was able to address all the issues with a fix or a workaround so that the experience is exactly the same as you have it on desktop platforms.
A free version will be released soon and then multiplayer will be worked next
