Movie Battles III is a team and class based third person shooter inspired by the Star Wars franchise and built on the Unreal Development Kit. We ask you to build your own hero and pit him or her in combat against a wide variety of other would be heroes. Who will you be?

Our first release will be modest. You will be able to play a basic Deathmatch with a few prebuilt characters. There will be two weapons and two force powers available. We feel that short, modest releases are the best way to ensure our mod's quality and success.

Hello there,

I'm interested in pushing my video editing skills forward. To do this I'd love to get some demos from interested players. I am looking for spectacular frags and tricks that you folks can pull off.

For me to consider including your frag, please include the following in your submissions:

  • Name of the demo: So I recognize which demo we're discussing about
  • Name of the fragger: So I can credit you properly
  • Time fragging: How many minutes/seconds does it take? Around what time in the demo does it occur?
  • Description of the frag: What happens in the video? What map? What class? What weapons were involved? What makes it spectacular?

Send the demos to goodolben@moviebattles.com. I will be accepting demos for a month. Last day of submission is 23rd of June, I will not include anything sent to me after that.

Here are some past frag videos from me and the community to give you a picture of what I'm after!

I think that is the hope of all of us. We have even dropped the Star Wars name which was present in our two previous mods (though they were also for star wars games. Also ignore the logo on the top, we need to update that)

If we do get noticed by LA, we are hoping that they would rather take us in than shut us down. We will have to see... I haven't seen LA being very active on taking mods/indies down lately.

So will this be like a jedi battlefront or more like jedi knight?

More like Jedi Knight. Our original game (Movie Battles 2) is a modification of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, and we prefer that type of fighting style much more over the overpowered jedi found in battlefront.

Are you thinking of adding a cover system?

As of right now, we are planning on having at least a small form of cover system. We do not know how in-depth it will be or when it will be implemented however.

The first few releases likely wont feature DX11. Quite a bit of content is built with it in mind. However, as said in my post below, the team is new to UDK. We are coming from the Quake 3 engine. It will take us a while to get acquainted fully. I personally plan on adding DX11 content, as well as a few other developers. It will not be fully supported in the first few releases at a minimum though.
