Masters of the Arena (Mota) is a retro-styled, fantasy, tactical combat arena where players assemble the perfect team and compete against hordes of enemies in engaging, yet moderately paced strategic arenas. Gather your party from various regions of the land by winning the favor of twelve factions. Then compete in the arenas for high scores and prizes against all manner of pixelated animals, warriors, wizards, demons, and yes... of course... even zombies.

The .46 build of Masters of the Arena is now live on both Windows (IndieDB) and Android (Google Play). It includes two new story arenas, the Enchanted Vale (unlocks Druids) and the Arcane College (unlocks Mages). With these new arenas comes three new enemies: sprouts, treants, and demons.
Sprouts
Sprouts are a tricky little weeds. They will run away from you if you get too close, but they don't quite run far enough to keep you out of range of their poison cloud. Getting the whole party into the middle of a couple of these is not advised.
Treants
Treants are large lumbering tree golems that hit fairly hard, have a good amount of health, and heal themselves and their allies.
Demons
Demons are a tough opponent to let linger. Like the lich and boss, they like to summon friends. However, they do it a bit differently. Demons summon portals instead of imps directly, so you'll need to be ready to run around the room to close the portals before you're overwhelmed. Fortunately, as well, portals are much easier to close than most items; especially if you have a priest around.
Development Progress
Mota is nearing the end of alpha. I have one more story arena (the Wizard’s Tower) to complete and then I’ll be ready to begin the beta phase of development. This is where things get pretty… hopefully. Here are a few things to look toward in beta:

@wtrebella I've started to notice that, for my games, it works better than not. Problem is, I can't seem to be emo enough to keep up. ;p

@wtrebella Sometimes I feel as though people abuse that outlet a bit too much, so I commend you. Not being emo certainly isn't a crime. ;p

@wtrebella Sometimes those feelings are just more emotional, my friend. "This is fucking awesome! I'll use it!" is a feeling as well. ;)

@wtrebella I think some would argue that that then makes them a "part of you." Is music you compose not what you think sounds good?

@craftstudiodev That was it! On second thought, I bet I pinned it to the taskbar and got the client link instead; not the installer, my bad.

@craftstudiodev Just the link that the installer gave me. I'll go look for a launcher.

@craftstudiodev "You have been disconnected. Reason: You must go online to authenticate"

@craftstudiodev Client starts me out offline (server seems fine), but then when I "click to go online," no love. Tells me I must go online.

@craftstudiodev Should I be able to connect via CS currently? I saw that you mentioned issues, but I thought you said they were resolved.

Is the final build going to be free to play?
No, the final release will be available on Android for $1.99 (currently 99¢) and the Windows (and hopefully Mac and Linux at some point) will be $4.99 (via IndieCity currently). I have been trying to determine the best way to create a full-feel demo that can allow people who really want to play for free the ability to do so, but I haven't settled on anything. Also, without even being through the beta phase yet, I have no idea if the target price point will change. Free just doesn't seem like an option currently, however.
