The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is an epic, open-ended single-player game where you create and play any kind of character you can imagine. Be the noble hero embarking on an epic quest, or an insidious thief rising to leadership of his guild. Be a malevolent sorcerer developing the ultimate spell of destruction, or a reverent healer searching for the cure to a plague. Your actions define your character, and your gameplay changes and evolves in response to your actions. Confront the assassins' guild, and they take out a contract on you. Impress them, and they try to recruit you instead. No two sagas are the same in the world of Morrowind.

Gameplay is further extended with the inclusion of The Elder Scrolls Construction Set (bundled with the game). This powerful tool is being used to create the entire game, and will also allow players to modify and add to Morrowind in any way they see fit. Change character or creature attributes and skills, introduce new weapons or dungeons into the game, or create entire new worlds to explore. Consequently mods for this game are everywhere, ranging in size from mere characters to fully themed packs! So should you ever want to expand on your gaming experience, be sure to scope out just a few of the amature modifications available and in existence!

Morrowind is much better than Oblivion, even though Oblivion is a lot mroe stable, and doesn't screw up my framerate. Oblivion is boring. Morrowind has a great atmosphere, and the mods for MW are still better than those for OB.

I just got into Morrowind and think it is the greatest D&D type game there is! I love it.I'm still playing Morrowind weven tho I have the other two that came in the Game of the Year package. My first question is ...If you install all 3 games ...do you still plat Morrowind or all 3 at once? And where can you download good mods without going thru the crap of IGM or other download pages?

I just recently started playing Morrowind. I know there was MOD editor that came with the game.
After playing for a while I noted a few similarities between the world of Morrowind and Athas the world of Dark Sun. I popular Dundeons & Dragons game set on a desert world where past soceries have drained that land that was once verdant. Popluated by the much tougher versian of humans, demi-humans and also half giants, Bird Men, Lizard Men, Insect men, Half-Darves and other things. Magic can still be used but only sparingly. Very powerul Wizard knings can slowly trnaforms themsilves into Dragon or Avangions depending on their alignment. Though they are very rare. Psionics is has becoime the norm. People ride around on giant lizirds or Insects. ( THis happens in Mororrowind also.) Templars are the norm for Priests and warriors are moslty Galdiators that fight in the desrt cities. Weopons are moslty made from Glass or Insect parts, as metal is very rare. Old crockery has replaced gold.

I think The Eldars Scrolls editor would be excellent platform for Dark Sun. If not the clmiate, then the overall look of the game is a match. I was getting the vibe looking at the exotic buildings and some of the characters.
