Mini Tank Battles is a cartoon styled 3rd person multiplayer oriented tower defense game where you and the other players need to protect the HQ against waves of enemies. You can play this game with up to 4 players in COOP modus. The different PVP modes are in development and one is playable right now. The main controls of the game go through a 3rd person playable tank for the action and a flying cam for the building. With the use of a leveling and inventory system you can progress throughout the increasingly more difficult levels.
Registration is optional and will give you certain benefits ingame like storage of your inventory. Registered and non-registered players won't be able to play in each others games. Feel free to ask questions and do suggestions.
It is highly recommended to try the snapshot version at the current state. However problems may exists with older versions.
The other Alpha/Development versions can be downloaded here:
You can also play the game on the website:
If you like the game and have steam, please show your support on the Steam Greelight Concepts page.
All information below represents the game in its current state. This can be updated any moment and is no reflection of the end state of the game.
This mode is also referred to as "classic" mode. In this mode you need to protect your HQ against hordes of enemy tanks. You can either do that by killing them yourself (which is very very hard) or use some help by placing turrets. For every kill you do you will get some funds to build more turrets. If you play this in multiplayer then your funds will be shared amongst the players. Destroyed mobs will drop power ups. These powerups can either be health or gear in the current state. If you are logged in, your gear will be stored and is available for any other round you do in the game. At then end of this mode there is a big boss you have to defeat. This boss also tries to destroy your HQ.
In this mode it is all about killing your opponent. The first player to get 10 kills is the winner. Around the maps there are powerups. If you are logged in, all powerups consist of healthpacks. You use your own gear to kill the opponent then. When you don't login, the powerups also drop gear. So during the match you get better gear to help you in your mission.
The first PVP versus map is a map that is aimed at teams of 4vs4 to 8vs8 players. Both teams have a base that they need to protect from the other team. The goal is to destroy the enemy base. You can defend your base by placing turrets around your base as well as shooting the enemies that attack you. You can attack the enemy base by yourself or buy up to about 5 mobs (or even bosses) each time to send to the enemy base. So with the funds you can either defend your base or use it to attack. As a reward will both the winning team members all receive gear, funds and xp. However the amount of gear, funds and xp is different between teams. This only counts if the game started with at least 3vs3 players and the round is completed or a complete team leaves. The team that leaves will not get gear, funds and xp.
Normal Tank
The normal tank has a single cannon and a medium speed. These are the most frequent starting mobs and not very lethal unless in great numbers.
Dual Cannon Tank The dual cannon tank has a dual cannon and a slow speed. Even though the they are slower and shoot slower compared to the normal tank, a full hit can severely damage you.
Flamethrower Tank The flamethrower tank is also a slow moving tank that does a lot of damage at short range. Be advised to stand a bit back while killing these. Tesla Tank The tesla tank is a fast moving medium damaging tank that can attack multiple targets with deadly shocks.
Self-Destruction Tank Self-destruction tanks are basically driving bombs. You must kill these as fast as possible since you don't want these to explode in front of you or your base.
There is currently a big boss with a huge dual cannon on its roof. This tank like vehicle has extreme armor, but is also very slow. As soon as it hits your HQ it will self-destruct. This self-destruction will most certainly destroy your HQ.
Single Cannon Turret
The single cannon turret is a big turret with one cannon. This cannon has medium shooting speed and medium health as well as a far range.
Dual Cannon Turret
The dual cannon turret is a big turret with two cannons. This cannon has a slower shooting speed compared to its one cannon counterpart, but with a bit more health. It also has a slight reduced range.
Tesla Cannon Turret
The tesla cannon is a turret with a rotation tesla cannon mounted. It has imminent firing speed, but a low range and medium to low damage. However it is capable of handling multiple targets at the same time.
The current weapons and armor that drop can be found below. These weapons all can have no modifier (white), one modifier (orange) or two modifiers (blue) that will boost their stats.

There are various ingame upgrades for you (and your team members), the mobs and your turrets.

The game now holds a levelling system. If you kill a mob you will get experience points. With these experience points you will level up. Leveling up will improve your health as well as unlock stat points. With these stat points you can unlock the turrets and get an armor boost. Further options for the stat points will be developed later on. It is also mandatory to be level 4 before you can play the new level.
For each level you gain, you will get a new stat point you can spend. So far there are 3 stats you can put a stat point in: Armor boost, Allow to build Dual Cannons, Allow to build Tesla Cannons. In there future there will be complete talent trees available for each class.
The mobs are mad that you keep killing them. So mobs now also have levels along with the health boost that comes with it. Mobs now also can equip armor and better weapons (which also can be stronger depending on their level) because they thought it was unfair that only you could equip armor and better weapons. Mobs also drop gear now within the range of their own level.
Gear now has different kinds of levels and level requirements. So a level 4 armor can now be equiped when you are at least level 4. However this level 4 armor will hold better stats than the same level 1 armor.
Frozen peaks is the name for the new COOP map. This map is set in the snow covered mountain tops. This map has dangerous cliffs you can fall off and multiple access points from where mobs can enter. There are also a lot more mobs that you will encounter in this level. Mob levels here range from 4 to 6.
There is new music in the game. The music differs from the building, battle and boss phase. More music will follow soon for each level.
There are so many bugfixes that I've lost track of what bugs have been fixed. However the whole game should be much more stable.
I am planning on creating a wiki that can be filled in by you! I won't fill this wiki myself because I would like to see the interpretation of you of the game mechanics. This way I can adapt the game mechanics to better liking. If you want to participate in filling the wiki, please let me know so I can set up an account for you. I will only moderate the wiki so no spam / profanity / etc comes on the wiki.

Snapshot Update of February the 3rd
The Team Versus Team is completed in the basic mechanics. Due to the switch to Unity4, I’ve had some compatibility problems that cost me some time to fix. So instead of fully releasing this update (and thus news), I’m providing a snapshot update. This snapshot update is meant to give a taste of what the full release of the first Team Versus Team map is going to look like. There are quite some bugs and features that have not yet been handled, but the game is playable. If you want to try this snapshot, I would suggest playing with at least 4 players minimal. The snapshot can be found here: Minitankbattles.com
Here is a list of a selection of things that have been added in this update:
Team Versus Team map has been added
-Both teams have a base and have to destroy the other base.
-You can buy turrets to protect your base
-You can buy mobs to attack the other base
-You gain funds over time
-Holding shift will make you go faster, but it is harder to steer.
-Enemies now properly avoid players and turrets.
The full update will probably come tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
These Is New Bug Knowns
After Game Ended Other Level Button Disappears After Start Server Press Twice
Thank you for reporting the bug. This has been fixed.
Self-Destruct is now also possible in Team versus Team.
it would be great if you can upgrade turrets like damage and firespeed
Indeed. This is something that is planned with the leveling system. Since this leveling system is kinda complicated to set up, decisions have to be made if turret upgrades are going to be persistent based upon skills/abilities, or that they are upgrades that you can do while playing the game. As it is looking now, there is going to be a combination of the both. It is not certain when this will be implemented. But the repair ability is certain for the next release. Perhaps (if I have enough time) there will also be an option to upgrade turret damage (as a starter).
looking good! are standalone builds going to be released soon, or is that later down the line?
Downloads are up!
There are a couple of things I want to do before that. The most important one would be an auto update system or at least another version system to prevent server client mismatches.
