Hah, I stand corrected, I guess I jumped the gun on the title. Though, I'm only half at fault since the game description doesn't even at least tell you your characters are actual space miners. It would have also been cool for them to tell me that it's based on another game.

But, I'm happy I did jump the gun and thanks for the info ton he game Miner Wars 2081, it looks awesome, reminds me of Descent. I'm now 1000x more intersted in Miner Wars 2081 than this game and I want it to have a destructable environment too X3. Miner Wars 2081 II?

Also MINEcraft doesn't have miner in the name :P
Something odd: I saw this on Steam and it really didn't appeal to me but seeming it on Desura it looks like it could be some fun.
Also also Descent is one of my favorite games ever. I still play it everyonce in awhile on my 20 year old Mac.

ROFL, I agree. I'd rather buy an indie game from an indie market. Just feels right Brian...Panda.

Not every game that has destructible terrain has to have the word "miner" in it. I use Red Faction as an example of that.

Someone is uneducated. It is a spin off game from a Space Sandbox/MMO called MIner Wars. They decided to keep the IP title and add arena for the arcade game you see here. The MINER part refers to the actual role players have in the series and is therefore relevant and not just a silly tag line for the fact that the game involves destructable terrain.

And now you know.
And knowing is half the battle.

BTW I recommend looking the game up. www.minerwars.com
