In overall a nice game, very simple but addicting concept, i like it, but it seems that the development has taken the wrong direction lately and the playerbase can be very annoying at times..

I am a skeptic and believe this game is NOT what people say it is.
This game is as overrated as Katy Perry, and there are better Indie games out there like Terraria and The Ball.
Seriously, this game is boring and there isn't even a real help guide telling you how to make things.
It doesn't take much time to make an interface in-game that tells you the basic properties of crafting. The game "can" be fun at times, that is if you aren't getting force-fed your own feces by the mobs every five minutes.
Over-all, this game isn't that great and I have seen better.
Honestly, this game needs to get kicked off the #1 Indie game ranking, and if anything, be free. I mean REALLY free, not that free browser crap on its website.
Notch, make this game less "work" and more "fun", because that's what I buy games for is to have fun.
After clearing my throat now I have to talk about the good stuff huh? Oh great.
The game is fun in many ways, even though you have to look at a Wiki designed specifically for Minecraft every 5 minutes in order to figure out what you want to craft.
This game can be entertaining, but if you're a "Hardcore" gamer like me, this game won't be addicting.
The objective is that there is no objective really, you make your own objectives, which as a concept is the best damned thing ever.
In execution though, for me, this doesn't work. The only thing that really helped you make "objectives" was the Achievements. Collect wood, make a wood axe, collect more wood, make a shelter, make a door, hide in time for the mobs to come destroy your well-built house.
That is, if you have time to do all those tasks before the mobs come after you. Beware that the game does contain giant green jumping genitals that explode, so if you come to find one of those, RUN. This game for me is average, and I will certainly not waste any more money on anything to come out for it.
This game does NOT deserve a 10/10 by the addicts, but a simple score from someone who is an average gamer.

When I first played this game, I've mainly interested in the mining feature. However, then I learned that Minecraft can really help improving the creativity of people, just having an idea and begin to construct. The only bad thing is... if you don't have a plan or idea to do, it doesn't worth trying this. The game itself doesn't engage you, you have to engage to it planning something.

The graphics are horrible, but I learned that is its particularity. Has some other interesing features like crafting. In conclusion, it's a nice game if you are extremely bored.

I guess everything has been said about this game hundrets of times. Anyway, here it goes:

This game was really promising and the mechanics were insane. I loved it and played it quite a lot. But after a while it's greatest problems come to mind: No proper combat, no weapon variety, nothing. It lacks the most basic features of a game.
I still give it a rather high rating because it is what it is. A nice experience. It's just sad that it doesn't live up to its full potencial.

I like playing Minecraft once in a time, but I'm really not that hyped and excited over it at all. To me, it's just a fun game, not really 'a wonderful world' or whatever. I like it tho.

If you want virtual LEGO, then Minecraft will satisfy your needs. There are also some nice mechanics, like the Redstone circuits and the Hunger bar.

However, if you want adventure, then you will probably be disappointed (at the time of this writing at least). I didn't find the game noob friendly at first back in 2010, and had to look up a wiki and/or maybe some YouTube videos to actually learn how to survive the game's mobs. Even with some recent AI changes, I find it lame how Villagers still don't do anything remotely useful in the game.

Maybe in the future, the game will expand the adventure aspect greatly and become more newbie friendly. While there are always mods, they are merely bandages and don't add to the core gameplay.
