To the right of the player is a Taiga (mostly over the ocean), to the left is either a Forest, or Woods, I can't remember. In the distance is probably tundra.
Remaining work on biomes include letting them change the elevation (deserts, plains, tundras and swamps should all be flat), and changing the grass colour depending on the biome type. The border between frozen biomes and not frozen ones will get way nicer.
The sky colour changes slightly depending on how cold the area you are in is.

Don't forget to make the sunlight become weaker when the sun is hidden behind the clouds(and then back to normal after it reveals it self from them). And make the sunlight come only from the sun instead from the whole sky at once.

Looks really nice, I love this game already and considering it's only in an early stage of production I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest!
I'd really like to see some kind of "plateau" geography (a flat land in high altitude), it would make a lot of sense especially for the tundra biome.
The one thing I'm afraid for this game is that the novelty wears off kind of quickly and the average player is left with a "what's the point ?" impression (I'm not talking about the obsessed guys building absolutely epic stuff). I think it would benefit from putting more emphasis on the survival side of the game, like for the main character to have to feed himself and having a counter of the days survived in total... and maybe some quest to find hidden stones, or to reach the center of the earth or something.

All I want is a lovely, constantly snowy area to settle down in. Though that doesn't mean I'll turn my nose up at other types of areas to root around in.
I hope the swamp will have some kind of fog. Would really make it creepy to go into the swamps
