Minecraft officially crushed Terraria's skull and throwed it in the wind.
people are calling them chains.
maybe chainmail armour will be possible in the future? a nice turnaround if it is.
and terraria would be even more crushed if minecraft could implement those incredible depths for mining...still minecraft is much more addicting :D
*cough* But these ideas were taken from Terraria... *cough*
Mojang needs to add much more content, they are in a very slow pace with updates.
PS: Also, for a building-focused game, Minecraft has too few variety of blocks (bricks, for example).
thats the fun of it! the variety of blocks is what makes it possible for more creations(crafting options) and imagination to structures! minecraft is for better than terreria in every way possible besides terreria's ability to make a *cough* pu**y *cough* gun and its bosses. and terreria is in f**king 2d. i dont know anyone who wants to play 2d games anymore cause thats like playing a game from the 90's
Minecraft is pretty boring when it comes to adventuring, events and weapon variety.
Terraria has underground jungles, proper dungeons, the corruption and the skylands.
Minecraft has tiny square dungeons.
Terraria has Hell, a challenging place where there are many enemies (Imps, bone serpents, hellbats, Demons and voodo demons) that are extremely hard to kill and make getting anything down there a good feat.
Minecraft has the Nether, with neutural pig zombies and some ghasts that occasionally shoot fireballs.
Terraria has a huge variety of enemies in general, like Zombies, skeletons, demon eyes,slimes, corrupt bunnies, eaters of souls, eater of worlds, skeletron, cave bats, antlions, vultures, fire imps, hellbats, demons, voodoo demons, bone serpents, jungle bats, snatchers, piranhas, sharks, cursed skulls, dark casters, angry bones', man eaters, hornets, devourers, meteor heads and the eye of cthulhu while Minecraft only has the same old Spiders, creepers, skeletons and zombies.
Terraria has Goblin raids, blood moons, meteor crashes and falling stars.
Minecraft has no real random events.
Terraria has swords, maces, grappling hooks, guns, axes, bows, staffs and potions
Minecraft has swords and a bow.
Terraria has Npc's such as merchants and a nurse.
Minecraft has some pigs.
Terraria has more armour varieties, such as copper, gold, silver, necro, shadowscale, meteor and molten. Not to mention the enchanted items you can get, miners helmet, rocket boots, obsidian skulls, flippers, and the list goes on.
Granted, minecraft has the unlimited space and terrain, but contentwise it is hugely, huuuuugely lacking.
This update is going to be a much needed one for minecraft, because IMO, it's Terraria that is crushing minecrafts skull right about now.

I spy with my little eye and new blocks, ans spikes(I think)
I don't see spikes, actually looks like a metal gate.
One interesting to note is that the whole structure is actually shaped and formed to the way the land is shaped; so rather than the generator spawning some brick and square building that looks out of place, the whole thing blends in rather nicely.
heh minecraft is getting a lot more like Terraria now.. </:D
even tough i find terraria pretty boring..(because you actually can defeat all bosses,get all NPC and getting best items.. :(
and thus finishing the game... (maybe i feel like that because its lacking the 3rd dimension...)
Your right, I've gotten every item in the game of Terraria but not every magic, and beat all bosses a number of times.
This how ever is going to feel more like a sandbox rpg than a construction sandbox game. And thus no end to it, till you some how get bored[and that's unlikely].
But this screen shot to me looks more like ancient ruin than a dungeon.

Wait, so is the dungeon gonna be easier to find because it's gonna spawn on the OUTSIDE now or was this pic made so the dirt was dug out?
this is a type of dungeon. only this type (to our knowledge) will be above ground.
hopefully thay will be more above/under ground
also to note cracked cobblestone is one of the different things I see or that could be dungeon brick, mossy dungeon brick, and cracked dungeon brick.

already saw it via the wiki it's a nice idea and hope to see more of it already found the gate
I think it would be better if they left the world depth as it is and expanded the nether instead, maybe added some more places (aether?)

what about "Butterfly's" but only seen at the grassy part (you know, many grass over there, u can get butterfly's and seeds over there.)
The real part of this comment is, New Monsters(mobs) like, "CRAWLING WORM OF DEATH!" grass height, and harmless. =) PEACE! Minecraft is never this more good.w
(to everyone) its not a ruins, they just dug the dungeon out to give us a good look of it...are you ppl who say its a ruin that thick to actually think it came like that naturally?
