Mindworld is a First Person Action Adventure Game developed with UDK. In January 2011, the project was started. The player gets into the role of Katherine Evans who suffers from depression and is looking for answers in her subconscious mind, which she enters via lucid dreaming. Throughout the adventure, the player has to collect clues, solve puzzles, fight enemies and overcome obstacles in a surreal dreamworld that slowly turns into a fearsome nightmare. Mindworld is divided into four chapters and offers multiple endings, which are influenced by the decisions the player makes during the gameplay.

Meet the Composer (Alex Michajlow)
Introducing the third article of this series, we are going to present you one of the composers of Mindworld in an interview.

What is your position in the team?
At the moment I'm one of the few composers we have working on the project.

How did you get involved in the project?
I had only recently started browsing Moddb, with the intention to find a project to work on. I felt that if I approached the project as purely a composer, I might be swamped out by the huge amount of talented musicians on Moddb also looking for games to work on. So I found Mindworld by chance and joined hoping to do work as a writer who also made music. But it was the quality of my previous work as a musician that got me the spot as a composer for Mindworld.

I know you guys are waiting for some level design and there already is level design in progress. But, we made the decision not to publish WIP screenshots or videos, because many things may change in the designs or get cut off completely.

WIP shots usually start discussions about what could be added or done here and there or people are disappointed, because they don't realize how much things can change in the last 10% of progress.

I can assure you that we are going to show you level design shots, but you have to be patient until they have reached the amount of quality we are looking for.
