News about whats been happening over the last few days with development, including nebulae, AI and more.

This news post will talk about some of the things I have added to the game over the last few days. Nebulae, Particles and Explosions, AI. I also updated my mission system so I could set waypoints as well as creating a message system which I can use in missions to display further information. I also just finished naming all 40 systems that are planned for the game aswell as setting out their layout in the universe in a new galaxy map. This will be shown in further detail in the next news article.
Since the last news post I have added many types of nebula's in a variety of colors to add a little more detail to the universe. I have created a system which can re-size, re-colour and re-shape them at will so I can create a large diversity of nebula's with only a dozen or so base images.
A few days ago I discovered that the particle system was draining an incredible amount of power, I fixed this very quickly and now the game requires much less power to run, I also added some different color particles which can be seen in the patrolling ai screenshot. I also added some explosion effects which will be useful once I start integrating combat into the game, I will likely upload an image focusing on the explosions and particles tomorrow.
Over the last few days the first faction ships have been put into the game, patrol vessels that will look out for enemy vessels infringing their territory, large ships transporting goods through the system, and mining vessels at the asteroid fields. No combat AI has currently been made.
