What if Counter-Strike® and StarCraft® had babies? This game design, built in 6 days, attempts to answer that question. It features round-based RTS play, with objective systems, unit upgrades, and all of the other goodies of a RTS... and it features soldiers who can kneel, use various equipment, have real facings that matter, and cost points. Add in a traditional FPS feature- the endless respawn system... let an AI play it to teach the "nubs" how to eventually become "scrubs"... and there ya have it, Merc Squad in a nutshell. That, and you can capture the Yakuza boss's daughter. C'mon... just how cool is *that*?

What if Counter-Strike® and StarCraft® got together... and made a baby? This new game design by Wolfe Games (the people who are developing P.U.R.E.) built this from scratch, in 6 days, to find out. It's a gamecode experiment that got a little out of hand. We have RTS standbys, like unit upgrades and controls, and FPS features, such as a strict objective-based system, endless respawn, soldiers who must obey facing... and much more. Add in a points-based system, a money system, and other things, and it's a fairly odd little game. We're proud of it- it's cute, in a rough-and-ready kind of way. The installer features one map (which is not exactly awesome quality, but hey, six days, including all the content, c'mon), working multiplayer, and basic AI support, so that you "nubs" can learn how to play offline before trying it on with humans.
