Just thought of sharing a video tutorial made by SullenMan1 but reposted on Youtube by Man Gemer from the Vk community. It will show you how to export human models (soldiers) from 3ds Max to Men of War/AS 1/AS 2/whatever MOW game.

What you'll need:

  • A version of 3ds Max, from 2009 to 2014 works.
  • Installed the plugins for the corresponding 3ds Max version you have installed: you can get them from your MOW AS 2 folder or, if you don't have AS 2, get them here (they are in Russian) Vk.com , or get them from one of your friends that has AS 2.
  • A ready MOW model (link below).
  • A model (create one or download one from the web), usually I keep models around 10k polys, the higher you go the worse the game performance can get (check the ready model polycount to get an idea, that's a Best Way's model so yeah, you know it's fps-friendly).

Hello, I'm having one simple problem that I haven't had before, when ever I have two textures needed on a model, I end up having the single texture cover the entire model, and overlapping the other texture, I'm using 3ds Max 2014, and I haven't had this problem before. I attached two different parts of the model that coincided with the respected textures, such as the body texture, then attached the vest and head parts to add the armor texture. Then after adding the textures, I attached both parts together, I chose to condense the materials, and everything looked fine when I rendered the model, but in game only 1 texture showed. Do you know how to fix this problem?

After you attached it you need to deselect it, then it will work.
