Men of War: Vietnam is a new game in the critically acclaimed series. Two new, story-driven campaigns let you taste the explosive mix of the jungle, Hueys and rock-n-roll in early 1968.

Description

For anyone who is interested, I've retextured the MOW:V NVA uniforms into a tan variant that perhaps more people are familiar with, It will also help distinguish NVA from US Personnel. Since MOW:V Does not support mods, you will have to replace vanilla files with these. Be sure to back them up! A simple tutorial is included in the file. PM me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. Original texture map by 1C Tan Uniform modification by Kastrenzo

I don't know about everyone else, but they look a little too saturated to me, I might make a different version if people would rather have that. But for now, Enjoy

Yes, it took a lot of time, and the stats for the weapons and vehicles were far from identical to the Vanilla Stats, I pretty much made a new game out of MOWV materials, I've long since deleted that stuff, they came out with an Editor for that game, which ran worse than before.

Some people have been asking if I can upload my Ported MOWV Mod up, I can't until/unless 1C Says it's ok to do that, IE What they did with Red tide. however I can give people my scripts since many of them I had to rewrite myself. I wont upload them though, for the meantime people are asking me if I can help them port the content themselves, I'll give them my scripts if they need them to make things go faster. I'm always trying to improve them.

The Huey uses an engine different from MOW. helis can't be used.

@royal - to make the hueys work in the editor, you have to remove two lines of codes - the editor error popup window will inform you about this - when they do operate, the helis just hover like they're caught in a twister :(

but if you remove those two codes from the .def files, you will experience an error in the singleplayer missions that involve the helis - me thinks it's a scripting problem.

I don't know. as far as I know the Helicopters use special coding that isnt supported by either MOW or MOWAS. So I can't help you there.

Vietnam Constructions are incompatible with editor : There's a string "emission" that creats problem. Did you clean that string or modify it?

No I never got around to fixing that woodspark emission thing. I can't find what I need to change, so only about 1/3 of the vietnam construction directory was ported.

Hrm, I never seen NVA with tan uniforms, as far as I know most NVA don't have uniforms, only the regular army has uniforms, and those are black, green and white.
But, maybe I'm wrong, but as I know the only people that had Tan uniforms was the one's at the Hue Region.

NVA Is the North Vietnamese Army.

You are probably thinking about the VietCong, a Communist Insurgent organization that operated in South Vietnam.

I was never a fan of the Vietnam war, but all the media, games, pictures, movies I saw, the NVA Was always wearing a tan/khaki colored uniform

Good work, bit too tan for my liking but good work none the less if you do make a new version I probably will ask if I can add it to the Mod I'm improving, here's a link to it on the 1C Company Forum: Forum.1cpublishing.eu

It's to save a good game from obscurity due to lack of variety in multiplayer.

You know I thought that there uniform was more of a sand sort of colour and the helmet remained green as far as I'm aware, here's a picture to back up my belief (It's from We Were Soldiers, the most accurate 'Nam film the world has): Images.ha.com('global.source.error')]&sink=preservemd[true]

I personally believe the colour was more of a stone/sand sort of thing which is seen in We Were Soldiers (A good film and the most accurate we have): Icollector.com

Where did you find the .dds files for the MoW:V skins? I've unpacked my e3 file but it doesn't seem to have any, yet the vanilla MoW skins included in the same place do dds files.

They're in the root texture folder from what I remember. Not in the entity folders
