Men of War: Assault Squad is the new title in the Men of War series. Assault Squad takes place across the globe during the height of World War II and features a completely new cooperative skirmish game mode with access to five different nations (Russia, Germany, USA, Commonwealth and – for the first time ever in the Men of War series – Japan) as well as increased realism and accessibility. The expansion pack will deliver fans and newcomers an intense new WW2 spectacle with almost limitless replayability.

Like previous games in the series, Men of War: Assault Squad includes the unique “direct control” feature which enables players to maneuver units using the directional keys, rather than pointing and clicking. PC Generals can get behind the controls of a tank to smash through obstacles, crush soldiers under its tracks and fire armor-piercing shells at enemy emplacements, or take control of individual soldiers as they fight.

This game is begining of fail of series. Why? Because of bad gameplay:
Asault squad has trolled campain.
Condemned heroes and Vietnam have trolled multi.
All that games shouldnt be games but MoW's expansions.
Devs must realise game with new engine and epic campain like in Soldiers:HOWW2 and with MoW:AS's multi!

This game has nothing to do with vietnam or condemned heroes, assault squad was made for multiplayer and it succeeded in this plus it fixed a lot of annoying things from old men of war. Assault squad was made by DMS same people who made Men of war. Vietnam and condemned heroes was made by 1c multimedia who only care to make quick buck and thats all, blame them for runing the series. Plus if you want to point fingers look at the guys who made tech for this game to exist, bestway they are doing new game thats totally not related to men of war. This could be end of men of war but not because of assault squad, its more because of 1c and bestway.

I dont care of technology, I only want good gameplay like in Soldiers or FoW and MoW. Rest of the series has bad gameplay, but good technology. But what is more funny? Old technology game with epic campain, where u can make big boom (eg. Soldiers) or game with good stuff where u cant make good demolition (eg. AS, CH).

You can make good demolishion in AS, in fact better than mow, there are missions ported to mowas and they are better to play on AS than original form of mow. As for you complaining about bad single player complain to 1c not to the makers of assault squad, because developers of assault squad are the people who brought u men of war original. You want to complain complain to people responsible for the other crappy men of war games as vietnam and condemned heroes made by 1c multimedia, crappy multiplayer and horrible single player combined witn no support.

I am not interested in devs, men. I said this game has good stuff but gameplay is bad for me (mow without single, lol). You are right dj but u understood me wrong. We should end that theme , because we 'spammed' much :)

I totally disagree. MoW AS has the best gameplay from all MoW series games. Soldiers was a different game, and comparing those 2 games is senseless. I was a part of flamewar about it and after that I can only say that comparing Soldiers to MoW is like comparing Crysis to Half Life. Same but not the same. FoW was just a "something" - terrible multi, stupid ranges etc. MoW was jest a beginning of something new, but with problems from FoW and some new features. MoW AS is an effect of this new way. MoW RT, V and CH are a second line of development of MoW series games and they are crap. MoW AS is the second line. This is the difference...

Our discussion though is irrelevant as I believe 1c is officially done with MoW series, and with the fact bestway is doing a "stalker clone" game on new version of GEM engine I believe the only life now in MoW series is up to modders, sad times.

that was nearly a year ago, and when you look at it it wasn't that surprising, it was a copyright / IP violation plain and simple, and he got banned.

Assault Squad is essentially the shinier more visually appealing version of Men of War, I dont find that it adds a lot other than the skirmish mode, some new maps. some new units, and some new models replacing pre-existing ones. It's not exactly groundbreaking however, seeing as it pretty much builds off of the success of it's predecessor, I'm really not even sure why Assault squad was even made, my guess was targetting a streamlined Multiplayer platform, but the game is equally popular as a singleplayer…

Men of War is successful because each game naturally generates its own narrative. It is brilliant because it has character. It is great because (in campaign missions at least) you feel attached to your troops. Assault Squad is Men of War minus all of this, and is horrid. Its lone addition is the new Skirmish mode: a depressing, soulless grind against entrenched AI. Instead of wire-tight combat against a fellow human comes wave after wave of artificially buffed but simple-minded robots; in place…
