M.A.V. is a 3rd person mech simulation game centered around a highly customizable vehicle.As we are still very early in development, we can not reveal all of the details yet, however, here are a few of the key features of the game. Seamless Multiplayer and Singleplayer: Multiplayer and Single player with be highly intergrated so that players can easily open up single player worlds to friends with out changing the game experience to much. Single player will have identical gameplay to multiplayer. Large Open Worlds: The game worlds will be of massive scale. This ensures you my play for months in the same world and still experience new things. Massive Customization: This game is about making it your own. Your M.A.V. will fully reflect your play style, your in game status, and your personal likes. Intense Tactical and Stategic Combat: Battles will be very intense, every shot will count, and strategy will always prevail.

The Kickstarter campaign has reached 100% funding and I have announced the first stretch goal, Melee Weapons! This weapon class will include devastating close range weapons that are improvised from their normal mining operations. This goal will be unlocked when we hit 125% funded.

Next up, M.A.V. has been greenlit! What does this mean? It means that M.A.V. has been selected to be a part of the steam distribution platform. When M.A.V. does launch on steam, anyone that has access to the game will be issued a steam key. Since this has just happened, there is still a lot to figure out about how far to integrate into the Steam platform.

I have a very exciting announcement! I have officially signed on Varien to help create the sound track to M.A.V.! Varien has an excellent range of abilities and an amazing talent. I can't wait to see what he comes up with!

In other news, I have still been hard at work making the game. I put out 2 new snapshot builds this week, 0.5.15_2 being a quick hotfix to a camera issue on the reverse joint legs, and version 0.5.15_3 fixing some garage bugs that could be an issue for players when building their M.A.V.'s.

Since both of these snapshots have gone well, I have also put out a new stable build so all the current players will have the updates available now! This coming week I will be focusing all my efforts on fixing up any outstanding multiplayer issues and looking into the steam integration.

Have you ever gotten back from the developers of Dark Horizons: MAV? If so, are you at liberty to share what they said?

Also, while this may be a bit extreme, if they're not willing to change their name, you could always sue them for taking a name you've already picked and (hopefully) copyrighted before they did.

If you do decide to go down the legal route, since your game and Dark Horizons: MAV seem to be extremely similar, I recommend, aside from consulting with a lawyer if possible, you take a look at this piece on several major court cases on actual and accused game clones: Gamasutra.com

And I think the MGs recoil effect's a bit exaggerated (strapped about 6 MG & light MGs in a heavy chassis, and the aim instantly pulled upwards due to the recoil). There's a bug in the weapon grouping as well (light machine gun shows up as blank name), and one more bug where the screen is cut (only half of the 'Filter' button shows up, for instance) if playing under 1024x768 or below.

One more complain: The current version's customization menu is rather impractical (i.e the part's 'snap-in' range should be increased IMHO), there's should be a 'clone selected part' option to allow us put same part easier

Anyway, can we paint our own mech per part (i.e each part have different color)? More for the wishlist, but I can't think of them all yet for now.

Nice job so far BTW, I also still learning Unity for a Front Mission-ish TPS mecha game project.

The Mech editor has been completely redone in the latest Alpha release, as well as all the part stats (like recoil).

The animation is not final, it's just place holder right now. I don't plan on spending a lot of focus on final art until Beta.

You will be able to paint and decal your parts in the future.

Is this in the Demo or the Alpha build?

There is a known bug in the demo that the mouse gets hidden after declining the update. Just hit alt+tab and you can get your mouse back.

Same here, but here's the solution, start the game in windowed, once you get to the main menu, press Win (start menu) key and immediately return to the game. The cursor should works now.
