Post news Report RSS New composer for Mass Effect 3 and talk MULTIPLAYER !

You all might have heard the news that Jack Wall won't be working on Mass Effect 3. Unfortunately, nor will Sam Hulick.

Posted by on

It has been announced that Mass Effect composer Jack Wall will not be completing the trilogy and that a replacement for ME3 has already been found. Taking the helm for the final part is Clint Mansell. I’ll be honest I didn’t but he does have a good track record according to IMDB .

I’m torn with this news, I love every aspect of the Mass Effect franchise including the soundtrack. Part of me is concerned that Mansell will either be forced to or will create an entirely new sound for the universe rather than build on what Wall has already created(I had to restrain myself from making a pun about building on Walls) On the other-hand, getting such a high profile composer shows that that Bioware are taking Mass Effect seriously and haven’t just hired an unknown composer who was cheap.

On a positive note, it seems to be an amicable split between Wall and Bioware which is good as I would hate to see ME3 tarnished with negativity between the two. I have faith in Bioware so I will reserve my final judgement until I have seen(and heard) more.

So! What would ME3 sound like if Sam Hulick worked on it? Well, here's a piece he made...

Mass Effect 3 - Shepard's Return

Talk about what we would want to see in ME3's Multiplayer.

I hope that the idea of multiplayer has already been or will soon be eliminated, because in my opinion ruin the universe of Mass Effect.

I can't imagine myself multi in ME3, exactly as I can't imagine KOTOR with multi (TOR will-never-be-like-KOTOR), if BioWare wants this multi so much, then let they make only CoOp mode. That's the only thing that I could eventually accept.

Yeah I agree with you N7Maine, I mean WTF ?! Levelnig system ? O-M-G !

So the one who will be lvl 30 will have almost all biotics, but the one who's lvl 1 will have 0 biotics, so the lvl 30 will be OP (overpowered) for him. That's not fair.

Mass effect doesnt NEED multi-player but it would be nice to... and about the overpowered stuff... its how it works with every multi-player game, the higher levels have better stuff...

Yeah.. but you have a chance to kill him right ? Like in CoD games, one shot one kill, here : one biotic at lvl 1, 6x biotics at lvl 30 -.-" not really fair.

But I think the idea for multi-player is GREAT ! I'd love to have some more, that ME 3 won't die after playing singleplayer. I don't know... it's confusing. I'd love to see multiplayer thought. I just disagree with leveling system.

No, I think if there will be a multiplayer will be something foreign and independent from the third chapter in this incredible saga.
Or, if BioWare will introduce it the saga will die with the second chapter.

Let's think about Assassin's Creed. The first two games were good, but they only had single player (a good single player) but no multiplayer. In Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, they not only created a multiplayer, but they tied it in with the actual single player storyline. That and making it with a level system that grants you new abilities, but won't render you UBER. I hope ME3's multiplayer is something like that.

I'm still in my opinion! Mass Effect is an action rpg saga and an rpg cannot have the multiplayer...... Anyway the multiplayer rumor was eliminated because the project leader of Mass Effect3 have confirmed that ME3 will not have the multiplayer..... Fortunately.

Co-Op IF ANYTHING. No other type of multiplayer would be acceptable. I swear, if the do put a Deathmatch-style multi in 3, I'll be the first sum bitch to hack myself a Reaper to use! First they fail to give me KOTOR 3, now this? Handle it, Bioware!

Hum.... I don't know how much can be useful a co-op..... Surely is better then a multiplayer.

I vote for Co-Op in mass effect 3, Be able to pass the game together again and again and save it where you want to stop. Just like System Shock 2
