So another big beta update has gone out now! Definitely worth checkout out the list of what we've added, as it's a big one! Here's a video explaining some of the major changes that have happened:
If you'd like the full list, you can find it here.
We've been adding it lots, and lots, and lots of new stuff. Much of it has also been aesthetic. We have lots of fun new things for you.
One thing is the addition of a new permadeath leaderboard:

So now you can see where your character compares to other people playing.
We've also updated the appearance of mines:

But we've done heaps of really solid stuff. We've added the first guild (thieve's den) added guard tower functionality, magic shops, farm functionality, monsters in the countryside, more sounds and music... It's a big update.
Here's a let's play video by one of the fans showing off some of the new stuff:
Sorry this is a bit of a rambling post, but I'm REALLY tired after this weekend ;) I'll be back with more later :) In the meantime, enjoy!

This is the full beta build of the game. Feel free to download and try out the demo mode! It's the full game, just without the ability to save :)

Malevolence beta is turning into an amazing project with epic goals! I have never heard of limitless locations in a procedurally generated world, but they did it! All the Role Playing elements are here and the exploration is a huge part of the game. The current beta still has a lot of work to be done as the shaders and lighting still need to be optimized, but the developers have really put themselves in a new level of game design due to the massive amounts of assets, weapons, characters and locations…

will this be free? if so, how much it cost?
We are aiming to have the price around US$40. We have had alot of people working on the game for so long that they deserved to get paid, but with out publishers, we can keep the cost down compared to industry games.
thnx
That's still a bit pricey for an indie game.
It's a fluid price point at the moment, but that's where we're standing at the moment.
Someone has been smoking crack. $40 for an indie game? That is ridiculous especially since you don't have a publisher. This is not a AAA title.
Then don't buy it ;-) very simple solution there!
Well said sir!
Since when do the words indie game equate to ****** game? Just because these people don't have a publisher, doesn't mean it won't be AAA quality. If it's a small team, they're probably working harder than most large corporations. Developing games isn't easy... Plus the profits generated by this game may be the only means for these developers to live. Shouldn't they be paid for their hard work?
So excited to be working on this with everyone :D It's coming along so well!
And we're very lucky to have you on board!
