Lumber Island - Indie/Horror/Adventure/Quest. You awake to find yourself in a life-boat ashore an island, and the last thing you can recollect is having fun at a great yacht party. A bit of history: Back in 1970s, this island was known as the "Lumber Island". It abounded in rare wood species of the highest quality, which were sought for by the craftsmen from all over the world — many of them took trips to the island in person, to pick the best material. The island thrived on private manufactures and tourism... ...until deposits of oil were found under it. This finding doomed the island: its inhabitants were made to leave their home land, the wood was chopped down to the ground. And after the oil had been pumped out to the last drop, the island was left abandoned and totally exhausted. This is the official story. The real truth lying behind it is for you to discover... Graphics are about on par with that Slender redub... nothing special. Extremely blurry on any settings. The update appears to have done absolutely nothing gameplay wise. There is no supsense to this game. You know exactly what causes the monster to come, and even from what direction, every... single... time. At least Slenderman keeps you guessing and leaves you the hell alone at some point.
it didn't scare me much
(although i quit the game after finally seeing the "monster madman")
the graphics is great,
the environment is good as well as the ambience too
great job on there
controls are only the basics (not even an inventory?!)
some details i don't understand if they're even useful in the game like putting the teddy bear back in the chair?
i don't even get that
i downloaded the game because the trailer was nicely done with all the music and all but the sound isn't that much scary
i've also read that the BIG guy could only WALK. wow, maybe, if i didn't quit the game i might as well know how BIG of a loser he is -_-
overall, it's a game really worth playing and can be a great scare
specially the "monster madman's" sound effects
Good game! I only have a few little nags here and there. For one the game isn't very scary, and the axe weilding mad man that tries to get is slower than the character can walk. It's also not clear what the player is supposed to do and it's also very unclear that you have to let the ae weilding mad man kill you before you can progress. The atmosphere is also slightly lacking and the game overall loses most of it's tension by the first encounter with the axe-weilding mad man. The game does have some very good graphics and the story is very interesting. I would really love to continue and find out what happens next. I was also impressed with the dynamic shadows which I think really added to the games already very nice graphics. The enviroment is also very interesting to explore.
Overall, this game could do with a bit more work in the scares department but it is a good adventure game and I would recommend it to anyone who like adventure games!
The engine and game is really good, but the lack of sprinting and a guy walking behind you with a axe. WALKING. you can easily outwalk him.
This really damages the scaryness of the game. other than that it's only that the first chapter is short that's bothering me.
springing added, now it's like you walk a little bit faster
The only good thing about this game is the presentation. The rest is a cliched use of notes and a over done enemy type that doesn't even run when trying to catch the player. By the away, not allowing the player to run in a chase is anti-climatic...
