Hey guys..

I'm making this post to announce the release of my new custom campaign, Fatal Freight.

Basic information about the campaign can be found below. The campaign's page can be accessed here:
Moddb.com

Leave any feedback on the mod's page. I hope you have fun playing!

THANKS!

What's Fatal Freight?

Fatal Freight is a 5-chapter campaign which aims to provide gameplay comparable to that of Valve's official campaigns. The levels were designed heavily around competitive play specifically, and can be expected to provide a hectic Versus experience. Extensive testing has been done to ensure this campaign is playable on all difficulties, including Realism Expert. All secondary gamemodes (Survival and Scavenge) are fully supported by this campaign and most mutations should work with Fatal Freight as well, so have at it!

After crashing their vehicle, the survivors find themselves holed up in a small tunnel at the edge of the forest. With supplies running low and the frigid winter looming on the horizon, the survivors have little hope for survival. Suddenly, a strange voice comes through the radio. A man, claiming to have a means of escape is holed up at a freight train depot a few miles away. Seeing it as their best option, the survivors grab their remaining supplies and head out into the woods..

Features?

- 5 full-length chapters
- Utilizes the Left 4 Dead 1 survivor set (Bill, Zoey, Louis, Francis)
- Refreshing environments spanning from dense woods, a sugar factory, a cliff-side highway, & more!
- Balanced gameplay on all difficulties and game types
- Custom soundtrack for most in-game events
- Custom voice acting!
- Hectic competitive gameplay (Versus & Scavenge)
- Full Scavenge mode support
- Full Survival mode support
- Support for most mutations

I just bought the game from EB Games, because I figured I was behind times and it looked like an awesome game. I'm sure it is.

But after ten minutes into the install, I was very, VERY fed up with it. Not the game, rather, but Steam- I'm sick of it. The game disk only installed 5GB worth of game data- it still expected me to download another 9GB or so.

Now, where I live I do not have access to anything larger than a crappy 5GB plan at slow speeds. I can't download such an update. And there isn't anyone in 500km that might actually help me out with downloading it.

So- I've been robbed of $40. The game looks awesome- but Steam is restricting me from playing it because it's forcing me to download what I'm assuming are DLCs. Shouldn't we have a choice? WHY VALVE WHY?!

it shouldn't cost 40$, I'm pretty sure you need to find out more info on where you got it, cause it's probably a virus, adware, or a fake download. it also shouldn't take up 14GB...

Here you go mate Steam is a digital distribution client just like desura. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_(software)). I personally prefer desura over steam because:

* Desura displays price of games in my own country's currency. Steam displays it as in US dollar.
* Every time when I open steam to play a game it always update and never allow me to play a game when there is a update available for the game. Why wait for 10-15 or even more to play your purchased game?? In desura you are informed that game updates are available and you are free to choose whether to update or not. And yeah internet speed here is slow cause i;m using a dial up.

F**k you steam!! Live long Desura!!

It's free, updated content. Maybe you should get a console if you hate that sort of thing.

Yes, that's true- and Valve is good like that I guess. I've always been a PC gamer though, and I find it tricky adjusting to not being able to simply putting the disc in and playing.

Playing it again, seems so few games going on from where i connect. Hard to find a good game or team that employs teamwork and knows there stuff (like whacking jockeys and hunters off, not shooting close boomers, not running ahead or lobbing grenades needlessly)

The funny thing about this "full price DLC..."

Valve redid EVERYTHING. New code, new voice actors, twice the amount of maps, updated engine, every weapon was redone. There was multiple times the amount of content in Left 4 Dead 2 than in the prequel. Yeah, Left 4 Dead 2 should've totally been free.
