They came, they saw, they conquered - or so they thought. They didn't expect a resistance, after destroying our cities, mutating our people and occupying our planet they expected us to die. No - they are the ones going to die. They will pay for what they've done. They will pay with their blood in full! KILL THEM ALL! The last surviving solider of his squad vows revenge on the alien apocalypse. Kill Them All is a purely action driven first person shooter where the player faces mobs of enemies down with an assortment of military and alien weaponry. Kill Them All in urban cities, forest valleys, mountain ranges, military compounds and establish a foothold on the aliens home world.
One of the main feedback items by the community was: 'we want player classes'! and that they wanted those classes to be familiar but with their own twists. We're stoked to release the first details on one of the two player classes that'll be included in our first public release alpha build.

We're stoked to release the first details on one of the two player classes that'll be included in our first public release alpha build:
The Contra is the ultimate ultra violence killer, this heavily armoured solider has only one thing on their mind: massacring the alien invasion force.
We told you we were seeking professional artists to furnish KILL THEM ALL with top quality art, we found what we were looking for with Adam, with years of industry experience he proved to be the ideal match for the game.
When creating game art, it's a multilayer undertaking and we wanted to share the process with you to see the unfolding of the Contra from idea to ingame build.
The first step is creating the idea of the character, after pow wowing for several days we settled on a general design of what we wanted the Contra to be and represent. After scowering the net for a few days we collected enough reference material to send to Adam to start roughing out some concepts:
We went through many iterations of the heads and finally settled on a design that basically mixed many of them together.
We then start with a rough version of the character, this is to test out for animation rigging and sizing within the game:
The next stage, which many of you have probably read or heard about, is called a high poly mesh phase, this is where the character is modeled with millions of polygons in order to generate a normal map. A normal map allows normally the 2d aspect of the texture on a character to pop/add bumpiness, giving greater detail:
We then take our normal map and place it on our more well rounded character model:
The next phase is texturing, we played with a couple different texturing options and plan on having multiple skins available for players to choose, might be in this upcoming build, but might be next build:
But, something was missing, something to embody the Contras persona...
And here he is, ingame and ready to rip and tear!
