A cooperative survival horror experience set in a variety of nightmarish and surreal settings. Band together with your team-mates to defeat increasingly overwhelming hordes of freakish enemies and eventually - a horrifying boss.
- Solo game mode for offline play
- Watch those crucial and violent creature deaths in slomo “ZEDtime”, even in multiplayer
- 9 different monster types trying to eat your face off, armed with everything from teeth and claws, through to chainsaws, chainguns and rocket-launchers
- 12+ weapons for the players to chose from, ranging from knives and fire-axes up to pump shotguns, rifles and a flamethrower
- Add in a welder, medical tools and body armor to help the players survive
- Persistent Perks system, allowing players to convert their in-game achievements into permanent improvements to their character’s skills and abilities
- Players choose which Perks to play with, so they can best balance out a co-op team to survive the horrors
- Open, non-linear play areas: choose when and where to fight – or run; weld doors closed to try and direct the monster horde
- Full support for Steamworks features, including Steam Achievements and Friends
- Fully-configurable, allowing players to change things as simple as the difficulty level or number of creature waves, or go so far as to set up their own favorite waves of monsters
- Includes SDK for the creation of new levels and mods

How to play / Install :
SERVERPERKS OPTIONAL : YOU CAN USE YOUR NORMAL PERKS TOO
(though you will disable the Dead Space HUD theme)

1] Download the files
2] Drag contents of the zip file to : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor
3] Enter Killing Floor
4] When the download is completed you will see "Dead Space : Killing Floor" in your GameType selection
5] When you chosen the GameType, select your map
6] OPTIONAL : After the map select the mutator "Server Veterancy Handler V6" from the mutator tab
7] Start the game
OPTIONAL : After you have subscribed to ServerPerks you can edit how you wish to perk in the ServerPerks.ini file (Its a text file. Windows lists these as "configuration file"). You will find this file in :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor\System

Its crack. That's all I can say. What's not to love about a cooperative zombie genocide game, with a very good variety of weapons (everything from grenade launchers, to chainsaws, to automatic weapons), perks, and mutators? The game is very unforgiving though, and some of the perks are useless in harder difficulties. It's addictive, fun, hard, and you can have fun with 5 other people.

Only problem is nobody uses teamwork on any of the servers...You just pop in and try to use teamwork and they just wander off hunting zombies on their own with their m14 and leave you to die at the hands of 2 fleshpounds wielding a pitiful 9mm...
they use them, but mostly at major difficulty's, like on suicidal.

i havent played online ONCE because i just play this on LANs, you want to blast zombies with close friends, not strangers ;)
I don't have friends.
I play online with a limited group of friends. Works fine.
There is teamwork, but it's more along the lines of counterstrike zombie mod teamwork than it is Neotokyo or L4D on the hardest modes. Teamplay happens out of necessity as it's nigh impossible to kill a fleshpound on your own (and they arrive in pairs). Just stick with the group, kill what you can. Or join a server on round 1 and skip all the catching up.
I don't know, I find there to be a higher degree of teamwork and team communication necessary at high difficulty than appears in the other cooperative titles you mentioned - though general communication is less prevalent. I like the fact that almost every person still playing Left 4 Dead has a microphone, but it doesn't really seem like they know how to use that edge to advantage normally, and most people can coast along without active discussion.
I desire more news entries. Perhaps something dealing with the awaited changes to the Firebug?
