A free-roaming squad based RPG. Focusing on open-ended gameplay features rather than a linear story. Be a trader, a thief, a rebel, a mercenary, a business owner, a doctor, a bandit... the list goes on. Aid or oppose the various factions in the world while striving for the strength and wealth necessary to simply survive in the harsh desert. Purchase and upgrade your own buildings to use as safe fortified havens when things go bad, or use them to start up a business. Train your men up from puny victims to master warriors. Carry your wounded squad mates to safety and get them all home alive.

Kenshi has just been released on Steam, and is one of the top sellers!

Posted by captain_deathbeard on Mar 21st, 2013

Well, Kenshi is now for sale on steam and holding number 1 here on indieDB, and I think its currently at number 5 in the Steam sales chart. Outselling Tomb Raider I think. Nice.

Don't message me asking about Steam keys. Once I've finished sorting out the technicalities, your existing Kenshi key codes should work on Steam, but give it at least a few days.

So anyway I'm gonna try and make a few mid-sized regular updates next. Starting with improvements to the player character AI control, so that you can better automate your base.
I've also got to do faction assaults, crafting, wind & fuel, switch to the the new character art, and finish off walls. That's the stuff at the top of my list anyway, there's loooaaadds more than just that until it's finished. This should make you feel happy inside. So much goodness on the way.

oh dear captain, I sent you an email yesterday about a steam key.

please don't be upset with me :P

I am just SO eager to begin playing (even in its unfinished state this game looks ******* stellar)

to be honest, a huge (sick and twisted) part of me is looking forward to becoming the biggest and baddest slaving faction in the desert.

all will fall before my might, and if their bones are not bleaching in the high desert sun, then they are marching to my base with iron chains and shackles secured firmly to their beaten hides.

ohhhhh ho ho yes.

Have you thought about a career as an MP in Kuwait? You'll get to enslave people and do much more while enjoying kickbacks and a 4 storey house :P

Seriously... Your goal in the game is almost the same reason I supported Kenshi.

Damn, i remember seeing the very first posts about this game years ago and remember being sorry that such a wonderfull concept would most likely never come to fruition. Guess current events are proving otherwise... my sincere congratulations captain for a marvelous success story ;)

I bought the game here, I'm wondering if I have to buy it again on my steam account? (Link6746/Linksys the Rogue Router, in case it's covered. I did vote to greenlight it.)

The helmet grill (visor?) alone makes the armor worth waiting for :D
