Basically if you find yourself being surrounded by spiders in a corner, throw one of these on the ground and you'll have a huge area lit up.
Do flares look like that? It looks like a buckshot to me.

Many flare guns are 12 Guage! I wasn't sure at first. A simple google search showed me in the right direction. lol
I used to have a collection of shell casings. I did have two flare gun shells, they were both made from metal. Dunno about the USA or Russian models, though.

many 44. magnum revolvers take 410 shotgun shells like the taurus judge. but there are flares that look very similar to 12 gauge shells

This appears to be a Heeres Leuchtpistole, probably a model 1928.
Will firing it off into the air attract enemies?
