What would you do for freedom? In Iron Grip: Warlord, the nomadic civilization of Atelia is being swallowed by the massive Confederation. It's a hopeless and tiresome battle; for every enemy Confederate that falls, five more takes their place. Outnumbered and forced to retreat into the heart of cities, a full-out urban warfare has begun that the Atelians will surely lose. As the vestiges of your world crumble and your morale sinks, the only hope for the future is you and your fellow warlords. This is your last stand. This is your freedom. This is your game.

Warlord demo is out and ModDB members get a special discount - plus a brand new trailer!

Posted by ashelia on Nov 14th, 2008

So I haven't updated for two weeks. Now, before you yell and make me promise to be a better updater, let me tell you something: it's here. Warlord is done. It's out. The game released a few days ago and it's been hectic in Isotx land; we've all been trying to tie up loose ends, trying to make sure our proverbial baby didn't get delayed any longer.

So why didn't I post about it on, say, Friday? As it hit the internet full-force? As FilePlanet and GameSpot picked it up?

Well, I was working out a deal for all of you guys and that took a bit of time. Those of you who followed this game, those of you who played through Iron Grip: The Oppression, those of you who made Iron Grip what it is today - I want to thank you. And what better way to thank someone than with a gift?

When you head to our web store, if you're so inclined to pay for our game, any ModDB user gets 30% off retail price. That's 30% off of $24.95. To redeem your code, simply type "MODDB30" into the checkout page of our store to get this great deal!

Note: the coupon expires Sunday night at 11:59PM PST - so don't delay too long.

So... What's Next?

For those of you wondering what's happening next, let me tell you - it ain't necessarily pretty. For the dev team, anyway. We're working on patches. We're aiming for a mid-December patch of Warlord with some "special" fun, and we're looking to get it on Steam (and other distributors). We're also pushing for other changes, including a Linux dedicated server and a brand new trailer.

We have a long road ahead of us, and releasing was just the beginning! Thanks to all of you for sticking with us for so long, and we hope to see you down the line for years to come.

The devs have hinted on the Isotx forums that there are plans for more maps and possibly new weapons and building to be added in forthcoming updates.

Good to hear. =D I kind of felt it didn't have enough maps/buildings. It had enough weapons for me, though.

I have to admit it - I played IG:W demo a lot more than L4D demo, It's top notch quality - light years away from the (what I see) broken IG:Opression, I will sure buy it when it comes to Steam or something(i.e. when it expands it's playerbase a little more). Playing IGW with 8 good players on hard is EXTREME fun, all of you MODDB members are obliged to try the demo! I wish the team good luck in their commercial pursuit.

very nice game, but one map is not enough for this demo. I really would like to know how the fight continues and where it's going next. So, if you can't add a follow-up level, perhaps write an improved synopsis of the events after battle. Where are we going next and how does it look? What's the next battle for?

Hell, I almost always came out first. Shooting is very arcade, but lots of fun.

Man, I just played this for three hours, and I'd play it another three if I didn't have to go to work! You guys made a great game, I've been a fan since Oppression (I'm a big steampunk fan). Thanks for the discount and I hope to fight on the front lines for a long time to come.

Over the last few days there has been at least 2 full servers and a few half full servers. Hopefully this will be increased. Also remember you dont need to buy it to try it out online with friends.

Forget the graphics, forget the engine - THIS GAME IS INTENSE - I have never played a faster, more intense FPS game. You take fire from all sides, the street battles become vicious firefights where friend and foe are almost impossible to distinguish.

That said the graphics are actually top quality for an arcade style game.

Warlord kept me immersed for 3 hrs straight, and that was just the beginning!

The demo is pretty good, however it keeps crashing on my brother's computer, so we cannot play in LAN. I already wrote about the issue in more detail on the Isotx forum, so I would appreciate if the devs helped me out... ;-)

Or is it just me? Because I dont see any reason to go page to page and say "oh this is junk", "whatta ****" and "OMFGLOLADSASDXDXD YOUR NOOB MODDERS" etc. You can disagree but whit good reasons. So please take my advice and don't post comments such like "this looks so terrible haha" and only just first look! - Thanks (: sorry my english.
