What would you do for freedom? In Iron Grip: Warlord, the nomadic civilization of Atelia is being swallowed by the massive Confederation. It's a hopeless and tiresome battle; for every enemy Confederate that falls, five more takes their place. Outnumbered and forced to retreat into the heart of cities, a full-out urban warfare has begun that the Atelians will surely lose. As the vestiges of your world crumble and your morale sinks, the only hope for the future is you and your fellow warlords. This is your last stand. This is your freedom. This is your game.

Trailer for the Iron Grip: Warlord beta - previously unseen game footage! And hey, as you watch, consider signing up for the closed beta and fighting the good fight!

Posted by ashelia on Sep 25th, 2008

Short and sweet today because I just have a new trailer to show everyone! A shiny new trailer! This is our official beta trailer which means, yes, I'm going to nag you to submit a beta application if you haven't already. We've already gotten an amazing outpour of applications and they've been fun to read (yes, even the ones that say you love me in the comments) so keep them coming.

That said go ahead and sit down, watch the trailer, and then fill out a beta application. Friday I'll have some renders to show you.

I have to say this game looks better in motion. I wasn't sold on this from the screenshots, but the video shows off the gameplay much better.

As I commented on the last trailer, the movement is too similar to Quake 3's. It's weird seeing the characters move around so quickly in such a realistic setting. That's really my only complaint, however.

I agree, the Half Life 2 mod had slower movement which seemed to fit in with this type of genre/setting. I just hope the game doesn't rely to much on twitch shooting. Either way I'm still going to get it :D

Like Snarboo said, the players movement is to fast, Quake 3-like. But I hope that its fun to play anyway, because I loved the mod on HL2

OMG I wasn't aware of just how cool this was. Are there a lot of people playing the beta or at least enough to enjoy a game?

Right now we only have internal beta going on, as for applications, we've gotten A LOT so we'll easily have enough to schedule co-op matches between each other :) Just give it a week or two.

You guys should see it now that dynamic lighting and heat shimmers are included. Our flamethrower effects are now, pretty much, the prettiest I think I've ever seen in a game.
