We have six new screenshots from Iron Grip: Warlord. These screenshots show both FPS and RTS views, and are available both here and on the main Warlord website. These shots take you into the thick of the action!

Well, I'm assuming it's different cause in the last screenshot there is a hint about building buildings. That's something that Oppression didn't have.

True, but if this doesn't differ enough from Oppression I don't see any reason to buy it. Half-Life 2 is already relatively low-spec in the first place making the engine choice slightly awkward.

I've noticed many people think we're remaking the IG:TO gameplay, but that's not the case. The gameplay is actually significantly different. I'll try and update the overview page on the website to make things more clear soon :)

@leillei: nope, it's not, It's not even MD3 anymore, it's MD5's and all animations are custom created.

That's going to look nice with the broken normals and all which MD5 isn't really known for its use in vertex shaded games.

Broken normals? MD5's looked fine in Doom3 (which I think was Vertex shaded), and so far there's no issues with broken normals that I could think of, do you see any?

Doom3 didn't use vertex shading. It had a realtime lighting system that relied on normal mapping for its light. Without a normal map provided the model would be full bright.
MD5mesh does nto contain normals information. These normals are necessary for shading in non-realtime situations where normal mapping can not apply.

Yeah...bloom is too strong. And making everything blurry doesn't make it look better.
I know it's too much about graphics these days, but who can you blame for having gotten used to normal maps and real-time lighting?
I will still play it no matter how "bad" it looks, but I'm sure there won't be that many people who think like that.

Are you using XNA Enhnaced QUAKE 3 engine? That supports things like md5 and so on.

Nope; most of the engine modifications found online are opensource, or use opensourced libraries hence we can't really use those and sell the game.
So we've been rebuilding all that stuff from scratch on a vanilla Quake3 engine.

Well, it's hard to copyprotect anything when you have to give away the source. Basically this means somebody can easily recompile the source without copy protection and bingo you're game is free to play for everybody.
Of course this is only if ppl care enough to do so, but it's not a very safe starting position if you know what I mean.

It's a commercial game; it's built on an engine that Isotx paid for, and it's involved the full-time work of a lot of skilled people. People have invested money and time into, and it really isn't that shocking for them to expect some compensation for that.

I love the Doom 3 engine. Hell, quake 2 with new feature mods can look cool at times. This game looks bad *** and could probably run on anything hardware wise that I know people to have. Lan party time?
