Yeah, great idea. I loved that game too, probably the first console FPS I played after Halo.
It would be especially great if you removed the 'notches' and made the shade change a bit smoother. I also think it would be a nice idea if the dot in the middle changed *along with* the rest, so you could easily tell what HP you are at (e.g. when you get to yellow it will be yellow, at red it will be red and flash a little too maybe)
Perfect! I already have a set of 17 images, but that's even better. I will use a dynamic fade along with your suggestion. Currently all images for the new art have seventeen variants. But using the source code to achieve this will also be cool.
This would make a pretty cool life meter. It kinda reminds me of the life meters from Medal of Honor: Frontline.
