Interceptor Shield is a Missile and Air Defense Simulation Game
That allows the player to tests one's ability to defend the players nations air space against differant air and missile threats and go head to head against other players in online world wide war games.

Our current texture artist that had been texturing the meshes has gotten cought up in real life work and is not going to be able to have time for the project until after Christmas so we are looking to expand our team with a few more people to finish texturing the models that are done for the project and also for the hud art for the interface.

This is the following run down of what we need.

1. we are need of a texture artist that can unwrap and textured our meshes for both land systems and aircraft.

2. we need a person to help design the icons for the radar map and for the real world map for showing location of objects on the ground at distance that are out of sight.

If we can get people to fill these roles then our coder will be able to continue on with finishing up the first playable beta of IS for the public.

the only thing holding us currently is the current meshes that need textured and the hud art for the interface that needs done.

The engine we are using supports highres ground textures, its just the one we are useing for the terrain is a lower detail one we are using until we get the gameplay finished then we will do a re-edit of the terrain with newer terrain textures for the details on the ground so everything will look better for the terrain. Also Yes the higher one goes the darker the sky will get until its space is what we are planning.

Sounds great- also, will missiles have features like adjustable yield or selectable warhead types (perhaps as upgrades, ex. one warhead-> two warheads-> 3 warheads... etc.) Will radiation/fallout be modeled, or chemical weapons, or other realistic features? And will the effects for missiles and such be upgraded- they look good right now, but could maybe be better.

Yes these are all in the works, we are just in the early stage of the implementing of features. also one in the siop window will be able to select if warheads will be air burst or ground burst also.

Cool. What about custom launch codes so you can remember yours without having to copy and paste? And will it be possible to only launch one missile at a time, or is it a salvo launch?

You will be able to tailor your strike planes for one or more launches and also cross link them and the abilty to save targets and also forwards warplans to other players will be an option.

I'd be willing to beta test- I can keep a secret about features ;) Although it seems you need higher resolution ground textures- they look pretty blurry right now. If it was possible without starting from scratch, I'd say switch to a nice game engine, maybe UE3 with the UDK.

Also, will the skybox get darker and stars show up as you gain altitude?
