Have you ever played Starcraft or Command & Conquer and ever wished you were down there with your troops? In Executive Assault you can!
Executive Assault is a Real Time Strategy/First Person Shooter game where players will be able to take part in battles for control of a planet either on foot, driving around in a vehicle or tactically controlling the battle from the CEO's office. The game will include a mixture of old school weaponry and futuristic hardware all researchable via an extensive tech tree.
Set in a future where banks and corporations have joined to form an unholy evil SuperCorporation with limitless power and never enough wealth. The Earth totally devastated by pollution and greed where the rich and powerful live in clean domes and everyone else lives in the toxic atmosphere outside.
Not satisfied with current mining methods, researchers come up with the ingenious idea of using nuclear weapons to blast out large chunks of the Earth's crust to reach rich deposits of precious minerals below. However due to their short sightedness, the cascading affect rips through the crust and blows up the planet.
Escaping into space, the CEO's and heads of the SuperCorp's survive to exploit new planets. As one of the CEO's you'll be in charge of strip mining the next planet.
Just as your excited looking forward to be playing Executive Assault, we are as excited in creating it and the content. We are very mindful of the issues in attempting to join 2 genres together and the last thing we want to do is make a substandard game trying to merge them together. One important aspect of this will be gameplay depth.
We ultimately want aspects such as when you run over a robot, it gets stuck in the window and you need to wipe it off with the windscreen wipers, or adding fantastical inventions such as the quantum tunnelling device which will open a 2 way gateway across the map , but with research it could create a vacuum effect when it opens so you could hoover up your opponents at the other side. Or even a special gun designed to close it while troops are being transported through.
Also want to add a weather control device with various levels of power from rain to a precise lightning strike to take out that annoying player.
The First person shooter aspect will be a big part in the game. Usually tanks and walkers end up being the favourite units to create leaving the lonely soldiers to be useless. Well in Executive Assault these soldiers or A11Bots will play an important part in the game as they will be the only units capable of entering facilities and killing the CEO or disabling power or even taking over the security control room.
Plus with you running alongside your fellow bots, it will only add to the success of your mission.

After finally finding a decent pathfinding system, getting the pylons working, updating a lot of the graphics (always plenty to do) and various other tweaks and fixes. I am now moving onto adding new units and completing the extensive tech tree.
Starting with adding a new shiny armored A11Bot, he is a bit more expensive but will last a lot longer then the basic A11 model.
I am hoping over the coming weeks and months to get a large percentage of the tech tree created starting with the more interesting tech such as the orbital laser, missile system and shields.
As for the hacking tree, I am currently holding off creating this as I am waiting for Unity to update the way it handles GUI and 2d elements. So I am hoping by the time I have made a lot of the units they will have released the Unity update.
