We have been hard at work fine tuning and refining the base engine for Imagine Nations. Between the menus and game GUI, the AI systems necessary to simulate the town, and the terrain generation, we're fast approaching our first release. As we lead up to the early access release, we will be posting a weekly video with progress along with screenshots and some other odds and ends.
This week's content highlights the vast landscapes, mountains, and bodies of waters in the game. We also showcase the rudimentary digging and block placement systems necessary to interact with the environment below:
And some screenshots from the engine:
Finally, George has updated the WIP theme music for the game and we'd love to hear what you think about it:
Next week's movie will be showcasing the latest updates to world gen (including water simulation, proper block types for terrain, cave systems, rock formations, flora including bushes, plants, and trees, and the initial workings of the starter town). If we stay on track, we should be expecting our first release to Steam and other platforms some time in September.
