I Shall Remain was produced by an active duty US Marine whose experiences and love for his organization echo through the game. The creators have a story that is as interesting and moving as the one created for the game. You are invited to read about it at: Ishallremain.com

Hows it going Desura!

Jake Way here, it's been a long journey and we're finally ready to make a kickstarter debut. We've quietly been gathering everything we need to make it happen successfully. I've attached to this article an image of our first contributor gift. It's a beautiful rendition of Michael's quest log that players can have as any kind of creative journal. It's leather and handmade! These below are prototypes. The final cuts will have 'I Shall Remain' delicately placed on the front cover. Nothing too crazy though, I personally can't stand it for instance when I get a T-Shirt that screams the company name across the front. I'm all about subtle and beautiful.

On Kickstarter we plan to raise $30,000.00. This will be enough to cover the costs of completing a multiplayer function for the game- which will make ISR an absolute blast to play and market our Steam Greenlight campaign. Currently we're 76% of the way to the Greenlight top 100 list. We're well positioned but we definitely have a fair amount of work ahead of us. (Greenlight link here: Steamcommunity.com )

Also heads up, we're currently working on a new game map that will replicate the battle of Dien Bien Phu. Similar to what the French experienced in that battle in 1954, there will be no way to win. You will struggle to survive as long as you can. The French battles in Vietnam have always fascinated me especially because many of them were carried out by the French Foreign Legion. Back in those days, the ranks were filled with tons of soldiers who were joining up to continue their military careers and to avoid the Nuremberg trials. Who were these? Former Nazis. Well before the United States had entered Vietnam, former Nazi soldiers were covering down on the defense of French interests there and fighting the Vietnamese guerrilla fighters.. that blows my mind! I can't say anything about whether or not what happened in Vietnam in those days was right but I do know that there were lots of great fighters whose lives absolutely sucked fighting in the nasty rain and mud with limited support and that they fought well.

Thank you so much for your continued support and we look forward to interacting with you here on Desura. Feel free to hit us up with any comments or questions. Many of them might be receiving a video response from our new team member Lindsey. Nothing like being able to speak to fans in person.

Live and fight hard and happy zombie hunting.
Jake

Hey man! Yes, it's open to anyone who has bought it. I'm going to have all you guys meet up on this forum: Ishallremain.com and share your feedback, the forum is locked out until (hopefully just..) tomorrow. We're having a little battle with forum spambots.

Thanks to Dolore's feedback, our game will include bacon in future releases.

It is true, everybody needs new bacon.

Tried to install demo. If I launch thru desura it goes back to install process. If I use desktop shortcut I get "This application has failed to start because d3dx_42.dll was not found. Re-installing may fix this problem."
I have re-installed once already and it didn't help. I assume d3dx9 is a direct x file? I have latest direct x too.

Can you send him the link to the last version we uploaded (it seems to me that the Desura one is not the latest)? The dx problem should have been taken care of in the last Survive release

While I really appreciate the free game I encountered the same problem. Tomorrow I will see if I have the service packs all up to date from microsoft. I will also try to uninstall c++ redistibutable then reinstall because it asks if I want to repair it or uninstall. I found all the direct x files and d3dx9_42.dll was not there. I also watched the direct x installer. It stops at d3dx9_41.dll. Maybe I can find a game that has 42 and copy paste it into the I Shall Remain folder. Thanks Again!

If the file is missing then you can get it from the internet (you'll find it really quickly using google) and we will make sure we will update the dx installer in the next release.
Please dont uninstall and install multiple times, if it says is missing then you just have to either install a newer version of dx or find the file on the net and copy it in the directory where the exe is)
Sorry for the trouble!

I have already checked for the latest version of Direct x. Just getting the file off some random site can potentially end up being problematic and, from what I have read, is just a Bandaid to a severed artery. I uninstalled/reinstalled once. uninstalling c++ would do nothing so I skipped that. I found a game that had 42 in it but copying the file didn't work. I am patient enough to wait for the next release. I have also told a few steam friends about this game. They tried the demo and were very pleased.

One or two glitches, but still incredible! Great job, I am impressed that this is your first game!
