I Shall Remain (ISR) makes you responsible for the life of one US Marine who has awoken in a Zombie infested world. Its up to you to lead him on a path that will allow him to survive, fight back and become a leader of men. ISR has superb artwork, music and storytelling that is reflective of the high quality standard that its creators live for. Its creators have challenged themselves to leave a lasting impression on the independent gaming industry with a serious, entertaining and cost-effective game dedicated to a group of young people who created a culture. ISR will be released in episodes. Each episode of the game will build on previously installed content and will have new features, content and will tell a new part of the game story. The game's prologue will be released in January 2011 for free and will include a tutorial so players can have a running start when the first game episode is released.
Good afternoon players! It's been a busy month. We snagged a spot on Steam Greenlight, sold a hundred more copies here on Desura and are gearing up for our next release which will contain roughly 3 months' work that was put into the single-player campaign. Work still needs to be done with the campaign, so this next release is a beta and invite-only.

This next release will be ready for download by Wednesday or Thursday next week (10 October).
Those who are worried about not recieving an invite from me, for about ten days after we release anyone who wants in may simply shoot me a message (marine_jake), email admin@ishallremain.com or post on our wall expressing your interest in an early release. Those who have an early-release though are expected to join in with the ISR community and make an impact on the development of the game. After the ten day window, invites will only come from the first core of invited gamers and not from the development team.

The single player campaign picks up from I Shall Remain's 'Prologue' mission that is currently downloadable on our Desura page. Captain Hodges has brought the Marine he rescued in the Prologue, Michael Pyeatt, to a safe haven called 'Sanctuary,' and is leaving him there. Captian Hodges continues the fight in Massachusettes, those at Sancutary fear fighting there is a fools' errand. Players will carry on the story through the eyes of Michael. Michael must stand above those clamoring for Sanctuary's leadership, carefully navigate the city and train and equip a successful fireteam.
One of the reasons we've taken such a long time to complete the single player campaign is the size of the map. It's so big in fact, that our computers were having a hard time running it. For this, the map is divided into several smaller maps ('small' is the wrong word to use here!) and are all connected through the city's subway networks. Gamers, when you are in the city and you see a subway enterance walk up to it and press space bar. A window will pop up with destination options.
Over the next few days we will be developing our website forum to get it ready for early- invitees. We're putting in things like profile/avatar creation, a badge system and some more technical things like ad-bot extermination.
In other news, we're quietly preparing for a kickstarter campaign. We're very excited about the possibilites. We have a few rewards set up now to include custom USB drives, blank journals and canvas posters. It's really important for us to stand out, so things like T-Shirts and coffee mugs which everybody on Kickstarter seems to do will not fly with us. This is still very much in planning, but we will continue to update those who are interested here on our newsfeed about it.
Kickstarter is inspiring me every day. I recently saw the company that made my favorite point-and-click game when I was a kid - Shadow of the Templars by Revolution Software, post up a sequel and do really well. Come to think of it, Shadow of the Templars was probably what made me interested in game development. It's really cool to be following in their footsteps and leading our own campaign soon.

Sounds great good job guys can't wait to see the end result
Thanks man!
man i wish i could play this, but im headed to recruit training monday... great work on the game and keep up the good work.
Hell yeah man, do good! There's no secrets on how to do well, just dont get flustered by the yelling. Stay humble, be good to the recruits around you and soak up the knowledge. One of my best experiences.
Need anyone else to help test? Been playing the survival map quite a bit and itching for more :)
while in boot, do not leave anything on your rack or leave your locker open. if you do you will get to run back and forth picking up every item, one at a time, after its all been tossed out the window. We were on the second floor. Better hope you dont have a 100 pennies saved up.
the game engine keeps crashing on my rig
