Onslaught v4.1.9 download - Homeworld Game

WHAT IS ONSLAUGHT v4.1.9?
Onslaught is an unofficial modification for the game Homeworld:Cataclysm. It is a tribute to the Homeworld series using almost all of the un-flown ships in Homeworld and Homeworld:Cataclysm. These include the Kadesh (inc MS), the HW Ghostship, the JunkYardDawg, most of the HW Derelicts, the Nomad Moon and more besides. Onslaught unites these ships and creates an entirely new game. The Beast in HWC provides an excellent excuse for this bizarre mix of ship types!

WHAT'S NEW IN ONSLAUGHT v4.1.9?
Version 4.1.9 replaces the short-lived v4.1.8, which had a signifiant bug. This new version has been fixed. Don't be fooled by the version number; this is a major release, and is ithe final version. Several ships have been re-textured, a number of bugs have been fixed, the hints section has been improved, new maps have been added and the game play has been overhauled in response to the comments of experienced Cataclysm fans. Visually the most noticeable changes are to the Beast Carrier and Beast Battlefield Frigate, both of which have been faithfully re-textured as repaired versions of the original Homeworld Derelicts, and the replacement and reworking of mothership support modules on both sides. Onslaught is now as faithful and complete as I can make it.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO USE IT?
In order to play the Onslaught MOD you'll need to have Homeworld:Cataclysm already installed and working. You will also need to have the latest patch installed. If you do not already have it the patch can be obtained from Sierra.com. In order to play Onslaught against an Internet or LAN opponent you must both be using exactly the same version. You can tell which version you currently have when you run Cataclysm with Onslaught installed; on the main game menu you will see the Onslaught version number. HOW DO YOU INSTALL IT?
The actual MOD is a single file called "update.big". It's very easy to install.

1. Unzip the "onslaught4_19.zip" file.
2. Run the "onslaught4_19.exe" file and extract its contents to the destination of your choice.
3. In your existing Cataclysm folder there is an "update.big" file (about 300Kb). Rename it to "oldupdate.big".
4. In the Onslaught folder there is another "update.big" file (about 21.2Mb). Copy it to your Cataclysm folder.

HOW DO YOU REMOVE IT?
Assuming you’ve followed the installation instructions:

1. In your Cataclysm folder delete or rename the Onslaught "update.big" file.
2. In your Cataclysm folder rename the original file from "oldupdate.big" to "update.big".

HOW DO YOU PLAY IT?
In order to play the MOD you'll need to know the gameplay of the original game, most of which is applicable to Onslaught. Read the original manual, and use the TUTORIAL button on the main game menu with Onslaught installed. The Onslaught MOD makes a lot of changes to the game, most of which will be obvious with a little bit of play. However, there are some things you may not notice.
