Post news Report RSS Soldier(s), what can I do with them? What do they mean?

So you’ve heard about the Campaign Map, Assault Teams, Planes, Bicycles and more, but a thing I’ve been working on for a while, is the Soldier area. It’s the area where you control your characters, purchase and equip your hard-earned badges, weapons, grenades, mines, knives and so on! The way our characters work is the following: When you enlist your character, you pick a weapon load-out (not a class!).

An example can be seen below.

Buying a character

I’ve picked a paratrooper

Gearing up

The paratrooper load-out starts with a M1 Garand / Kar 98 and a parachute (the parachute is not shown yet). This is not all you can bring with you to the fight though! Below I have bought and equipped several pieces of equipment to complement my paratrooper.

Character overview Some Anti-vehicle mines, a knife, and my trusty mauser will make my life ingame much easier!

Equipping weapons

If I get tired of using my character as a paratrooper I can go in and buy a lot more weapons and swap my gear (currently only main weapon that decides) around. In the following screenshot I have purchased a lot more weapons and I can pick and choose for all my various characters, what weapon they should use.

Guns. Guns! Guns!!!
When you’re as rich as me, you can have a collection of weapons like this!

Buying weapons

If you click on “Get More Equipment” as you saw in the previous screenshot, you’re able to choose from the various categories of equipment and read more about the individual weapons before you make your purchase:

MP40 a day, keeps the enemy away!

Choosing your character in the shooter game

So you spent around 3 hours deciding on the load-out that gives you the experience and handling of the game like you’ve always imagined, and you want to bring your unique setup to the action game. This is how I do it (and you should too!). You find a battle that has an assault team of your characters “type”:

Just what I was looking for!
Join and select your character:

There you are!

Modifying weapons, badges and finding out your spawn-slot options

As the clever reader might have noticed, you can both Equip and modify weapons. The modify weapon, takes you into the Weapon Modification area, but we’re not ready to show you that yet! Here you’ll be able to upgrade certain parts of your weapon, to make it shoot just the way you want it! We will also be able to tell you about badges soon, but it’s not quite where we want it yet! Another area is the 7 icons that determine what role your character can fulfill on the battlefield, Depending on what you have equipped, you will be able to either take control of a certain role on the battlefield!

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed reading my little preview / explanation of the options and effects of customizing your soldier(s) so you become a more powerful enemy on the battlefield!

So is this feature live now? And are the credits the required points you need to enlist?

Looking good. Still praying for an invite sometime soon. The past few articles impressed me so much that I became a regular on your forum out of hype. It looks like all my favorite WWII games rolled into one with a lot of unique features to make it stand out on top of that.

I know the last wave was a few days ago and A LOT of keys went out, but I'll continue to hope that a new one is around the corner. Hell, no better time to be on bed rest...lol

Giving non macheine gunner classes access to Heavy Macheine guns?
Why. Just Why.
Im not even going to talk about the perks, I mean medals. Call of Duty has plenty of clones, just because you lightly mix it with Battlefeild doesnt make it any different.
I was really hoping for a nice, well balanced game, too.
Il just have to wait for the next group of indie developers to get their **** together ,then
Too bad.
Too ******* bad.
