Heretic was the first game to use the Doom engine outside of id. Produced by John Romero in cooperation of Raven Software, Heretic promises to be a great fantasy blastfest in a package! Fight off Gargoyles, Golems, Wraiths and Weredragons with your Dragonclaw, Phoenix rod, Hellstaff and Firemace! This game also introduces a new item system that's become a general must for most games, using with the familiar bracket keys. Items include Wings of Wrath, Polymorph Egg, Chaos Device, Disc of Repulsion, and everyone's favorite Tome of Power, that supercharges your weapons!
Description
This is basically Brutal Doom with none of the gameplay changes... just the blood and gore, nothing else. This is for compatibility with Total Conversions. Another advantage is that it can be used for any IWAD (except Strife and Hacx)... so I guess you could call it very lite brutal doom.

Anyone know how to get this working on Strife and Hacx?
On Strife it kind of works, as huge amount of blood is pouring when you shoot someone. But you won't get any gibbing action. I suggest you try Brutal Strife, it was released not so long ago. It's still not finished, but gibbing works fine.
If you know the DECORATE language then probably you can fix it by yourself, therefore, i don't really know

the ketchupmod chrashes gzdoom using the new version (v0.9) of freedoom in the first level.
Oh my gosh you know about freedoom??? That's what I use! And this mod will be great! Enemies won't be powerful, no fatalities, uses normal doom weapons (plus other weapon mods), use custom player skins, and yeah lots of blood. This is also what I'm looking for in my list.
mod makes more blood, but death animations don't work or freeze. any help here?

This mod makes Chex Quest bearable! With it, the Flemmoids burst into green giblets when they are shot!

This mod is great apart from the sound effects. The sound effects are way too loud and sound totally out of place during gameplay.

Can Ketchup be used only with ZDoom instead of GZDoom, in case one would like to do it?

he works with hacx and strife but the sprites are no changed
