Pilot a jumping tank through a maze of underground caverns and dungeons in search of new abilities you'll need to progress deeper into the levels. Each upgrade is hidden out of reach of your tank, and can only be obtained after exploring on foot. (This game is inspired by a certain NES game which I love) SPECIAL NOTE: 2 Free keys to anyone that agrees to make a youtube video of the game!

If you've played the co-op of months past, you might have noticed the occasional odd bug here and there. Enemies wouldn't sync, sometimes two music tracks would play at once, and if you lost all your lives you might have found yourself spawning very far back.

Well, I wanted to let you know that the experience has been vastly improved. All those bugs have been fixed. Multiplayer would even occasionally crash while playing on Linux, and the source of that bug has also been uncovered and squashed.

If you haven't tried co-op out yet, you really should, it's very fun!

A New Ability

Helena the 3rd now has a new ability, which you can currently only access through the level editor, but once activated, pressing z will give you a temporary shield that absorbs all damage.
This will be used to get through the lava in stage 5, leading to the ice world of stage 6.

Shield

After that, look forward to a grappling hook being added in game in the near future!

New Worlds

Along with these new abilities. We now have a new level designer! Keith Garry is joining us, and is already honing his skills by creating some bonus levels for the game!

New World New World

New Music!

Last but not least, our music composer has created new tracks for levels 3 and 4, the water and lava levels. Give them a listen! You can also check out more of his work over at Mikecharlesmusic.com

Bought this on Indievania last year, which is still on version 1.17. Autoupdate doesn't even seem to work anymore. Is there the possibility of getting this added to my Desura account?

Done, and yes the autoupdate was a bust, and a bit hard to maintain.

Are there any linux users out there who would want the new multiplayer updates to come out on their system? I.E. would you play the game again if I brought the new updates over?

I can not fully express my appreciation for this game. I'll start at the beginning. At first glance I was curious yet didn't have really high hopes. I'm sorry I doubted. The more I played the more I have come to love the look and feel of the graphical presentation. It is retro feeling yet completely new and offers a unique atmosphere. The tank controls so smoothly and so well. I play with the Xbox controller for I'm never had much success using the keyboard and mouse for anything other than a FPS. I did try it with this game and was surprised at how fun it was for me, but ultimately I'm a fan of the controller. Though aiming with my optical trackball mouse was fun. Steering the tank in side scrolling mode with a key board is something I just fail at. The only thing I complaint about with the controller is not giving it a classic feel with the fire being assigned a button as well as having the current option of using a bumper; the option to use a trigger would be fun as well. My index figure has trouble clicking the bumper open the controller often and quickly. It is just an uncomfortable position to maintain and use frequently. I love that the game does not explain what you can do, where to go, how to get there, or even what is possible. Like swimming in FP view. Lol I was presently surprised to discover that was a possibility. I just accidentally held down jump to long. Hover doesn't work on water reminded me of Back to the Future part III. The recharging hover I really like that. How solid objects feel mainly the tank interacting with floors, walls, and under water. The sound effects under water are cool. There are so many different modes of play it keeps things changing up. I'm not impressed with how the main character out side the tank controls but that may be intentional for it is very basic like in the original game but I see a missed opportunity to add so much that was never there before.

To go with a more modern 360 setup, set the controls to x360 or mouse, not classic.

A very nice "Remake" (Inspired a lot by old NES's Classic Blaster Master). We don't really see those a lot of games in the area as this one these days and this one owes a great 10/10
