HALO is one FPS that really did introduce many new gameplay elements. It offers all that is said below and the modifications already in development look to refine and improve the "HALO experience" even more!

Rich sci-fi experience.: Halo transports you into a science fiction universe fresh out of a Hollywood movie. With a detailed, twisting storyline, complex characters and cunning enemies, Halo will fulfill every sci-fi enthusiast's dreams.

Vehicle and foot-based action: Tackle missions any way you choose, be it storming an enemy base or taking the wheel or gunnery position in a variety of powerful vehicles. Vehicles range from stolen Covenant flyers to human tanks and more.

Intense online multiplayer shootouts.: Take the battle online with gamers from all over the world in a variety of individual and team-based games such as King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, Race, Oddball, Death Match, and more

Huge Weapon Variety. Enemies can be crushed with a vast array of human or Covenant weaponry, ranging from the stealthy semiautomatic pistols and needler guns to the fierce rocket launchers and fuel-rod gun.

Incredible mission variety. Fight the Covenant in a variety of missions as they uncover the dark secrets of Halo. Among the many objectives: to attack enemy outposts, raid underground labs for advanced technology, rescue fallen comrades, steal alien vehicles and weaponry, and snipe at enemy forces.

Indoor and outdoor combat. Fights are seamless in Halo's ultrarealistic indoor and outdoor environments as gamers hunt the Covenant in a variety of single-player and multiplayer battles.

About Halo Star Wars with 4 comments by NCC-1701 on Mar 1st, 2014

After our last update we made a great deal of exciting changes and additions to the map. Many assets and locations were revamped and some were scraped and recreated entirely. However after making this progress a variety of problems in real life got in the way of my participation in the project and as my free time dwindled our moddb page was unfortunately forgotten. Recently I realized how out of date this page was and decided that I should return and give ya'll an update on the state of our mod.

Lets start with pictures!!

As you can see the main hangar got a great makeover, the color scheme has been somewhat darkened and desaturated giving it a much more authentic appearance. We also added a variety of scenery objects, and a catwalk across the back wall.:

One of our favorite changes was scrapping the Millenium Falcon and starting it from scratch. This gave us a great opportunity to make it more accurate to the movies:

In addition to the assortment of blasters and explosives the map also contains lightsabers! These sabers are not only lethal melee weapons but invaluable defensive tools. If you hold down your right mouse button you can use the saber to deflect incoming blaster fire!

These are a few of our many changes and additions. You will find more pictures in the images section and hopefully in the next couple of days I will find time to upload even more in addition to some fun videos.

Possibly the most exciting news I have to offer is that we began open beta testing some time ago!!! You can actually download and play the map now!!! (as soon as the download gets authorized by moddb.)

I will try to update this page more often, and of course:
May the Force be with you!!

I hope you agree.

A good game for its time, yet in my opinion its still trumped by Half Life 1. The sequels are crap though lol, they didnt innovate any gameplay elements other than the graphics.

I think that Halo: Combat Evolved is one of the most overrated shooters ever. Everyone is addicted to multilayer, which is not that good. They don't enjoy the solid shooter that is, but they glorify it as if it were a religion. The sequels were the same thing with new weapons. Now, don't think that I am biased against Halo. It's a solid shooter. But I doubt every Xbox fanboy has ever played it's origins. Marathon. Their are a TON of references to Marathon in every single Halo game ever made by Bungie. And I doubt any Xbox 13-year old has ever played the three games masterpiece that is the Marathon series. Halo is a solid shooter, but it will never be Marathon!

I've played all of the halo games, own halo 1, never really got into halo 3, played to the first flood levels in halo 2 (I can be a pussy sometimes :-( ), and only play multiplayer for the RP maps, tell me this, find fallacies in my reviews, using your own review, and you get a few cookies... (like Murial always said, "the secret ingredient is vinegar!")

Halo gives us one of the best experiences in FPS that we have ever seen. It uses sci-fi elements and mixes it with an action dosis that reminds me games like metroid or even call of duty.
