Pick up the crowbar of research scientist Gordon Freeman, who finds himself on an alien-infested Earth being picked to the bone, its resources depleted, its populace dwindling. Freeman is thrust into the unenviable role of rescuing the world from the wrong he unleashed back at Black Mesa. And a lot of people, people he cares about, are counting on him.

AWESOME! Thanks a bunch for the tutorial. I had been wanting to do this kind of textures for some time now.
I learnt a hell of a lot from this. To think that I had always created metal textures using mostly filters. Never again I say! Excellent tutorial!
I just started learning Photoshop and I've seen two other tutorials, one from a book and one from Game-Artist.net and I have to say this is much more hands on and produces a much better end result than the render>cloud method.
Thanks alot! =) I appreciate it, and I'm glad you found it learning.
I will make more, be sure of that!
The render>cloud is NOT to be used :P
Please leave comments all other who downloads and watch, it's my first one, so feedback and crits would be great! =)
If you can't think of the next one to do, a quick glass, wood or tiling petterned floor texture would be good.
how about future looking steel?
I have these in mind:
-Wood
-Plaster
-Concrete
-Div nature types (grass, snow, ice, jungle etc)
Please suggest =) I'll consider them!
I've always sucked with metal, thanks for this tutorial! Much needed. :D
it is great site :) thank you :)
I was able to watch the first 9 minutes yesterday evening before i got pulled away from my PC by my parents. Def the best tutorial on metal texture i have ever seen :D
Now make one for Wood and ill love you for ever lol
I'll have to say this is probably one of the best texture creation tuts on the web. I learned more in those 30 minutes then using how to: books over the past year. Just goes to show theres no substitue for seeing someone do it and explainning the steps.
Thank you a lot for making this VTM, I'm finally able to turn all those texture ideas in my head into viable game content. Kudos! :)
please upload this to somewhere else... i can't download anything from filefornt.
i get "Your download cannot be completed at this time. Please try again later by re-visiting FileFront.com."
"Unfortunately, the user at moddb.com will have to upload their file again. This one cannot be fixed. I apologize for any inconveniece this may cause you."
Oh, sorry. I'll try to get it up as soon as possible.
