Pick up the crowbar of research scientist Gordon Freeman, and find yourself on an alien-infested Earth being picked to the bone, its resources depleted, its populace dwindling. You must rescue the world from the wrong you unleashed back at Black Mesa.

The original Half-Life sent a shock through the game industry with its combination of pounding action and continuous, immersive storytelling. Valve's debut title won more than 50 Game of the Year awards, was named "Best Game Ever" by PC Gamer, and launched a franchise which has since sold over 11 million units worldwide. By taking the suspense, challenge and visceral charge of the original Half-Life and adding startling new realism and responsiveness, Half-Life 2 opens the door to a world where the player’s presence affects everything around him or her, from the physical environment to the behaviors and even the emotions of both friends and enemies.

Technical note: most mods “for Half-Life 2” are actually cross-compatible with all of Valve's Source engine games. Check a mod’s profile for details on whether a specific game is needed.

About Deathmatch Classic: Source with 4 comments by KOLIAakaJASON on Sep 3rd, 2015

So, let's have a start. Firstly, let's have a talk about project, about it purpose. The main purpose of this mod is to make a straight port of Deathmatch Classic. Which means that the whole game will be ported over to the Source Engine. I will port all sounds, models, effects, materials etc. And configure them to work with the Source Engine. If what i have just stated still is a bit confusing to you then basically what I am doing is creating a Half-Life: Source version of Deathmatch Classic. So that Deathmatch Classic will get the updated features such as updated water, shaders, models, textures and much more. For that moment I have ported all maps from Deathmatch Classic to the Source Engine. They are looking very good, but need some polish for the final release. So, here are the screenshots about the maps.

And here is the video about testing ported maps.

Good luck and have a big fun.

November 16, 2004. The day our Lord Gaben descended from the Valve heavens to bestow upon us a new benchmark in FPS gaming. A legendary game that has yet to be surpassed. Of course, I speak of Half Life 2; a game of such magnitude that it need no description in my mere mortal words.
So go forth, my brothers, and replay our Lord’s hallow masterpiece in humble admiration of His deeds to rid our PCs of sin and bring true glory to our master race!

The workings of the Three only exist in the Gaben’s mind, the Will of Creation itself, but we shall remain steadfast in our devotion to Him!
Gabe shall come again to fulfill the Prophecy of the Three and those of faith shall be rewarded.

The adventures of The One Free Man shall continue!
Rejoice at the Half Life Miracle, brothers!
GABEN IS LOVE!

Are There any good alternatives to Valves own mapping tool? Because I heard Hammer is A bitch to work with.

Hammer's easy to use and (generally) work with, it's just a buggy little ****, and the engine *itself* a bitch to work with. Hammer on its own is fine, and I'd recommend that to start with anyway since there's so much documentation.

Hammer is one of the easiest to use mapping tools i have ever used. the only problems you'll have is configuring it, and even that's easy.

Sadly it never ends for Gordon Freeman, he is gaming worlds Jack Bauer, consistently going from one bad day to the next. No sooner have you blown up the head of the Xenian Nihilanth and discussed career prospects with the mysterious G-Man than he tosses you in the mix again. Another train ride another mysterious situation leaving Gordon (and you the gamer) none the wiser, but thats what we like about the Half-life series and all it's canonical universe, Valve will always give you a Palm d'or plot…
