Pick up the crowbar of research scientist Gordon Freeman, who finds himself on an alien-infested Earth being picked to the bone, its resources depleted, its populace dwindling. Freeman is thrust into the unenviable role of rescuing the world from the wrong he unleashed back at Black Mesa. And a lot of people, people he cares about, are counting on him.

i think the geometry is good for a first map.
however ive always hated people who think it's ok to release "Orange Maps"
i like the map but your choice in textures disappoints me.

no, its the fact he's to lazy to correctly make a map.

I've seen peoples first maps better then maps i can create.

and I've been mapping for a good while now.

Well, maybe you're right... But I think the "measure-textures" (as they are called) are quite simple and smooth.

Hmmm, so many negative comments. Personally I am intrigued with orange maps, seeing that this would be my first time playing one.

Uhm, I don't understand what you're talking about...
I used a BIG skybox, but I just limited it to the walls so you could run around there :)

I think orange maps should only be used for puzzle mods and stuff like that. but good job anyway. :)

i think that yeah, orange maps are okay for a first attempt. But lets be honest here, it doesnt take an awful lot of work to create your own textures, or even use the ones provided.

Pretty good go mate, well done, now get onto texturing!

Texturing correctly is very difficult in its own right to mapping brushes. To create and apply textures only to have to redo it later because the geometry was not perfect is a terrible waste of time. Textures and fine tuned lighting are always the last part of mapping.

well I kinda like this simple style used in this map.
I made it a little better now and added another bridge over the other two bridges. But I'll continue making new maps aswell.

Hahaha "what the fudge is DEV?" you really don't know? Now I know why people release these stupid orange maps, because they really are that stupid. DEV means developer, and as much they are only supposed to be used during the creation of a map as placeholders before you put in the REAL textures. Please please please OH GOD please will people stop thinking its okay to release maps made using that horrible looking retina-burning god rotting orange texture. It doesn't even take long to find textures you want and apply them so just take the 5-10 mins and your map will look 10 times better. Ever since orange maps got popular on CSS I was like WTF are you just too lazy to texture? But no, they're just stupid enough to think that a developer texture is a proper one. It's for measuring and placeholding and has no respectful place in the mapping community IMO. /rant
