Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is a playable technology showcase that introduces High Dynamic Range lighting to the Source engine. It is included with Half-Life 2, purchased on Steam. Originally planned as a section of the Highway 17 chapter of Half-Life 2, Lost Coast follows Half-Life protagonist Gordon Freeman as he travels up a coastal cliff to destroy a Combine artillery launcher in a monastery, which is firing on a nearby town.

Post news Report RSS Genetic Variation Article #5: Undefined Entity and WIP stuff

This week, we've finally finished our main theme song and we have a little bit of things to show you. Take a look.

Hey guys, we're back again we've got some news, albeit, not much. We've recently gained 100 watchers, as of yesterday and we though we'd show you some more stuff, as a thank you gift for loving the mod.

First off, we've finally finished our first theme song. We call it, Undefined Entity. Have a listen, its about 2 minutes long now.

Now that you've had a listen, I hope you enjoy the song and it brings joy to others. To go on with that, we're also releasing all previous iterations of the song, so you guys can see how it evolved over time. The link will be provided at the bottom of the article.

Next up, we have one image of a little thing we've been working on. While it doesn't look like much, it will be in the future.

If you couldn't tell what it was, basically, we're meshing the Half-Life 2 view model versions of weapons and re-purposing them as world models. Yeah, I know, it's not much, but we have an explanation. We like to take our development very slow. Before we add things, we think things through, so we don't introduce something that doesn't work or is broken, thus, causing slow development. We've been doing this since the start, but don't worry, we're getting there and soon enough, you'll be playing the mod with a Mouse and Keyboard, possibly a Controller.

While I didn't want to show this next WIP screenshot because I thought you guys wouldn't be interested, I'll show this anyway.

It's basically part of a remodel of Adrian Shephard's helmet for Opposing Force. It's actually meant for an Easter egg where you're in a Combine outpost and you see some H.E.C.U. helmets on a rack and one of them has Adrian Shephard's initials on it. Cool Easter egg, huh?

Anyway guys, that's all for this week. I'm sorry for the lack of content, but I'll promise you this. We will not stop making this mod. It is a dream of mine to finish it and I'm not going to leave that dream behind. Anyway, thank you guys so much for the 100 watchers, it really makes us happy.

That's all for this week, but stay tuned for more updates to come.
